Finding solutions to reduce power outages in the mountainous district of Que Phong.

On the morning of July 29th, an online conference was held to review the results of one year of implementing the work of clearing the power grid corridor in Que Phong district.

According to statistics from Quy Chau Power Company - the unit managing and operating the power grid system of Que Phong district - from April 15, 2019 to May 30, 2019, there were 89 power outages in Que Phong district, mainly caused by tornadoes. For example, tornadoes caused trees to fall, breaking wires and knocking down power poles 27 times, mainly in the communes of Chau Thon, Nam Giai, Dong Van, Thong Thu, etc. In addition, power outages occurred due to people cutting down trees, fuse explosions, broken insulators, broken power lines, etc.

To address these issues, Quy Chau Power Company coordinated with the Youth Union of Dong Van commune to clear the power line corridor of the Hua Na branch line from position 47 to position 104. In addition, together with Nam Giai and Que Son communes, they cleared 9 km of high-risk corridor where trees could fall onto the power lines.

However, the work of clearing the power line corridor has not been truly effective due to the infrequent coordination between Quy Chau Power Company and Que Phong district. Clearing the power line corridor in the area faces many difficulties, especially in areas where people plant trees. Some households in Que Son commune have seriously violated the power line corridor by planting trees under the 35KV power lines, hindering Quy Chau Power Company's efforts to clear the area.

At the meeting, several communes also raised concerns to improve the situation in their areas, such as requesting investment in electricity lines for the two villages of Khun Na and Dong Tien, as there is currently a dangerous situation where people are illegally connecting to the power grid for their own use, and some dilapidated roads need replacing...

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Thuong Hien, Deputy Director of Nghe An Power Company, shared his understanding of the difficulties faced by the people due to the power outage and expressed his hope that local authorities would cooperate with the power sector to resolve the current issues as soon as possible.
