The Criminal Police Department issued a notice to search for people who were scammed by Dang The Di using the trick of selling concert tickets.

On August 26, the Investigation Police Agency, Ho Chi Minh City Police are searching for victims related to the property fraud case that occurred at Saigon Royal apartment building (Ben Van Don street, Xom Chieu ward) to clarify...

According to the case file, on May 14, Ms. PTTV used social media (Facebook) to buy VIP tickets for the music show “The Park K-Star in Viet Nam” scheduled to be held in Hanoi on June 21. Through the account “The Di”, Ms. V. was quoted 11 million VND for two VIP tickets and 300,000 VND for the purchase fee.

To gain trust, this person sent a photo of the ID card under the name Dang The Di (born in 1999, from Dong Thap) and then asked Ms. V. to transfer a deposit. Trusting her, Ms. V. transferred money three times, a total of 16.3 million VND, to the BIDV bank account under the name Di.

The police investigation agency is searching for Di's victims.

Initially, Ms. V. received an email from the address “C.Ticket” confirming the successful booking. After that, the Facebook account “The Di” continued to request to transfer more money to “match the ticket price”. When Ms. V. complied, this person promised to refund the excess but immediately blocked the communication. Ms. V. contacted the event organizer and discovered that the email confirming the successful booking was fake, and the entire amount of money had been lost to a person named Di.

The Ho Chi Minh City Police Department investigated and identified Di as the perpetrator of the above act, so they brought him to the headquarters for clarification. There, Di confessed to creating Facebook and Zalo accounts to sell tickets for music shows and attracted a lot of attention.

To increase credibility, Di provided real CCCD images, then asked customers to transfer deposits. At the same time, Di created fake email addresses of the organizers, sending successful ticket booking confirmation emails to strengthen buyers' trust.

Di always creates situations of “lack or excess money” to force victims to transfer money multiple times. This method makes many people subjective, believing that they are about to receive tickets and only need to transfer a small amount to “match the order”. When he has collected enough money, Di immediately cuts off contact. After consolidating the case, on July 31, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department of Investigation initiated a case, prosecuted the accused and temporarily detained Dang The Di to handle the act of “fraud and appropriation of property”.

The Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has issued a notice to find people who were scammed by Dang The Di with the trick of selling concert tickets. Anyone who is a victim, please contact the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department (96 Vo Van Kiet, Ben Thanh Ward) or contact the officer in charge of the case Le Dinh Hai via phone number 0933.393.050 to coordinate information handling.
