Authorities have searched for and collected over 1,000 remains and 6 mass graves of fallen soldiers.

Major General Nguyen Duc Hoa, Deputy Political Commissar and Head of the 515 Steering Committee of the Military Region, chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were members of the 515 Steering Committees of the provinces within the Military Region.

According to the report on the implementation results of Project 1237 on the search and collection of remains of martyrs in the period 2016-2018, the Steering Committee 515 of Military Region 4, local Party committees and authorities, and commanders of agencies and units, especially the Steering Committee 515 at all levels, have actively and synchronously implemented the project, basically completing and exceeding the planned targets for the search and collection of remains of martyrs both domestically and internationally.

Propaganda work regarding martyrs' graves, information about martyrs, martyrs' graves, and activities to search for and collect the remains of martyrs, as well as mobilizing the public to provide information about martyrs and martyrs' graves, has been implemented through various forms, methods, and channels with creative approaches.

The Military Region's Steering Committee 515 organized training and directed the Provincial Military Commands to organize training and guidance on mapping and collecting the remains of fallen soldiers for 100% of communes, wards, and towns, ensuring the program, content, and participants met the regulations and achieved good results.

From 2016 to the present, the units have searched for and collected 1,078 remains and 6 mass graves (554 remains and 2 mass graves in Laos, and 524 remains and 4 mass graves domestically).

In the coming period, the Steering Committee 515 of Military Region 4 will continue to implement a comprehensive set of solutions, strengthen propaganda work, actively collect information about martyrs' graves; complete the review and completion of martyrs' dossiers and lists, create maps for searching and collecting martyrs' remains at three levels (commune, district, province) according to schedule; organize surveys, searches, and collection of remaining martyrs' graves in the assigned area, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy; and effectively combine the search, collection, and identification of martyrs' remains with incomplete information.

At the conference, the 4th Military Region Command awarded Certificates of Commendation to 10 collectives and 16 individuals for their outstanding achievements in implementing the project to search for and collect the remains of martyrs during the period 2016 - 2018.
