According to the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, thanks to focused investment, by the end of May 2025, the province had 6/6 operating industrial parks with centralized wastewater treatment systems that met environmental standards.

There are still many shortcomings in implementing the Law on Environmental Protection.

Since the Law on Environmental Protection (amended in 2020) took effect, all levels, sectors and localities in Nghe An province have made great efforts in implementing management, inspection and handling measures. However, environmental protection work still has many shortcomings.

On the afternoon of December 26, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment held a conference to summarize the year 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025. Comrade Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment co-chaired the conference.
