Woman swept away by floodwaters found in Hoang Mai town.

(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Vu Le Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Vinh commune (Hoang Mai town), said that at 12:50 PM, Ms. Le Thi Ngoan was found about 200 meters from the location where she was swept away.

According to Nghe An newspaper, at around 6:30 a.m. on October 10, while taking her grandchild to school, Ms. Le Thi Ngoan (born in 1995, residing in Hamlet 9, Quynh Vinh commune) and her grandchild were swept away by floodwaters. The 6-year-old child was fortunately rescued. However, Ms. Ngoan and her motorbike went missing.

Upon receiving the information, the leaders of Hoang Mai town arrived and directed the local authorities to coordinate with the police, military, fire department, and local people to actively search for the missing person.

During the search, authorities faced numerous difficulties due to rising water levels, strong currents, and the resulting debris. Despite the stormy weather, the authorities deployed nets and sent personnel to search the drainage ditches.

After the floodwaters receded, authorities found Ms. Ngoan's body floating in the adjacent lake.

It is known that Ms. Ngoan married a Chinese man and had a 5-month-old child. Ms. Ngoan had just returned to visit her mother 5 days ago. Currently, the authorities and family are making arrangements for the funeral.
