Quoc Duan November 25, 2025 13:04

With the northeast monsoon receding, the weather will turn bad from November 24-25, with temperatures in the North dropping below 10°C, and heavy rain in the Central region. The sea will experience strong winds of force 7-9, with waves reaching up to 6 meters high.

The weather in Northern Vietnam is entering a period of intense cold as a strong cold air mass continues to move southward. The National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting stated that the cold air mass is still moving southward and will cause significant changes from the afternoon to the night of November 24th.

According to forecasts, the cold air mass will first affect the Northeast and North Central regions, then spread to the Northwest and Central regions.

From November 25th, the weather in these two areas will turn noticeably colder. The lowest temperatures will generally be 12-15°C, and in high mountainous areas, it may drop below 10°C.

In Hanoi, the weather will turn cold from November 25th, with nighttime temperatures ranging from 13-15°C.

Not only on land, but the weather at sea is also strongly affected. From the afternoon of November 24th, the Gulf of Tonkin experienced strong northeasterly winds of force 6, gusting to force 7-8, with waves 2-4 meters high, causing rough seas.

In the northern South China Sea, winds are strong at level 7, gusting to levels 8-9, with waves 4-6 meters high. From southern Quang Tri to Ca Mau and in the central South China Sea, winds increase to levels 6-7, gusting to levels 8-9, with waves 3-5 meters high, posing a danger to ships.

From Hue and Da Nang to eastern Quang Ngai, heavy rain is expected across a wide area as a cold front combines with an easterly wind disturbance. The heavy rainfall in a short period could cause flooding in low-lying areas, flash floods in small streams, and landslides in hilly and mountainous regions.

Severe cold air can cause deep frosts that can significantly affect livestock, poultry, and crops. Strong winds and high waves at sea disrupt fishing activities and the movement of ships.

In urban areas or industrial zones, heavy rains can easily cause localized flooding, affecting traffic and daily life.

With the weather changing rapidly and becoming somewhat harsh, people in the North should prepare warm clothing and take extra precautions to stay warm when going outside. Tourists visiting Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Ngai should bring raincoats and limit travel when the weather turns bad to ensure safety.
