The 80th anniversary celebration of National Day on September 2nd will be a grand event featuring a parade, fireworks, and light shows, expected to attract 30,000 people at Ba Dinh Square.
Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh has just signed and issued a plan to organize the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025).
This commemorative event holds special significance in affirming the immense historical value of two sacred milestones in the nation's history. The celebration was organized through close coordination between the Central Committee of the Party, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the City of Hanoi, demonstrating the unity and solidarity of the entire political system.
More than just a formal occasion, this event aims to strengthen the people's faith in the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam. At the same time, the program aims to spread patriotism, foster national unity, and nurture the aspiration for national development in accordance with the direction of the 13th National Congress.
The program for the commemorative ceremony, parade, and march to celebrate National Day on September 2nd, 2025 includes:
+ 6:30 AM: Traditional Torch Relay (Organized jointly by the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism)
+ 6:45: Flag-raising ceremony (Ministry of Defense) performed.
+ 6:50: Statement of purpose, introduction of delegates (conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).
+ 7:05: Speech by the Party and State Leaders.
+ From 7:45 AM: Military parade and march (organized by the Ministry of Defense).
+ 9:45 to 10:00: The artistic performance concludes (organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).

The official commemoration ceremony will begin at 6:30 AM on September 2nd, 2025, at Ba Dinh Square, with a series of activities arranged in a scientific and solemn manner.
Location: Ba Dinh Square and several central streets of Hanoi (According to the plan for organizing parades and marches during the commemorative ceremonies of the Ministry of National Defense).
On the evening of September 2nd, Hanoi will be illuminated with dazzling fireworks displays at five strategic locations: Hoan Kiem Lake, Thong Nhat Park, Van Quan Lake, My Dinh National Stadium, and the West Lake area.
The fireworks displays were designed to combine traditional forms with modern art, creating memorable moments for the people.
Besides the fireworks display, locals and tourists will be able to enjoy many unique cultural activities such as light shows, visual arts, and hydraulic drone projections.
