On August 19th, a ceremony commemorating the 72nd anniversary of the successful August Revolution was held in Hanoi.

Exactly 72 years ago today, August 19, 1945, more than 100,000 people in Hanoi took to the streets in a demonstration. The large rally in the Grand Theatre Square transformed into an uprising to seize power. The masses quickly occupied the Governor's Palace, the City Hall, the security barracks, and other important government offices... The uprising was completely victorious in the capital city of Hanoi.

This victory paved the way for successful uprisings throughout the country in the days that followed. For the first time, the government of the entire country truly belonged to our people. The success of the August Revolution is one of the most important and glorious events in the history of the Vietnamese nation in the 20th century.

Specifically, these must be officials who are "absolutely free from power ambitions, highly enthusiastic and responsible in their work, serve as centers of unity, are exemplary in all aspects, are free from corruption, opportunism, and self-serving behavior, and are determined to fight against and prevent the decline in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle, as well as manifestations of self-evolution and self-transformation within the organization."
