Based on today's USD/VND exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,445 VND/USD), today's world gold price is equivalent to 116.8 million VND/tael. Currently, the domestic gold price is about 14.9 million VND/tael higher than the world gold price.

The price of SJC gold bars was listed by DOJI Group at 129.7 - 131.7 million VND/tael (buy - sell). At the same time, the price of gold bars was listed by Saigon Jewelry Company Limited - SJC and PNJ gold bars at 129.7 - 131.7 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

At Mi Hong Jewelry Company, the price of Mi Hong gold at the time of survey was listed at 130.7-131.7 million VND/tael for buying and selling. The price of gold bars at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited was traded by the enterprise at 129.7-131.7 million VND/tael (buying and selling).

USD exchange rate on the afternoon of September 18: Decreased after the Fed lowered interest rates for the first time this year

As of 6:00 p.m. on September 18, the State Bank announced the central exchange rate at 25,186 VND/USD, down 12 VND compared to September 17, marking the 10th consecutive session of decline.

With a trading band of ±5%, today's ceiling exchange rate is determined at 26,445 VND/USD, and the floor exchange rate is 23,927 VND/USD.

At the State Bank of Vietnam, the reference exchange rate is listed at 23,977 - 26,395 VND/USD for buying and selling.

On the morning of September 18, the USD exchange rate continued to decrease at many banks. At Vietcombank, the listed rate was 26,165 - 26,445 VND/USD, 12 VND lower than the previous day.

BIDV also adjusted down 17 VND in buying price and 12 VND in selling price, listed at 26,178 - 26,445 VND/USD.

VietinBank kept the buying price unchanged at 26,189 VND/USD, while the selling price decreased by 12 VND to 26,445 VND/USD.

Techcombank recorded 26,170 - 26,445 VND/USD, up 10 VND in buying price and down 12 VND in selling price.

Eximbank adjusted more strongly, reducing the buying price by 30 VND to 26,140 VND/USD, while the selling price remained at 26,445 VND/USD.

Sacombank stabilized the buying price at 26,180 VND/USD but also lowered the selling price by 12 VND, to 26,445 VND/USD.

The decline in the USD exchange rate is linked to the Fed’s decision on September 17 to cut interest rates by 0.25 percentage points, bringing them to a range of 4.00% – 4.25%. This is the first time this year the Fed has cut interest rates, and it is forecasting two more similar cuts in the remaining meetings of 2025.

Fed Chairman Jerome Powell said the labor market is weakening and the risks to economic growth outweigh inflation pressures. Notably, new Governor Stephen Miran was the only member to oppose this decision, as he supported a deeper cut of up to 0.5 percentage points.

The Fed’s policy adjustment is expected to strongly influence the trend of the USD exchange rate in the remaining months of the year. When borrowing costs decrease, the greenback may be under further pressure to weaken, creating opportunities for other currencies, including the VND, to maintain more stability in the short term.

On the afternoon of September 18, Hanoi time, the Dollar-Index increased to 96.98 points. Compared to the previous session, the euro increased slightly by 0.05% to 1.1821 USD, the British pound increased by 0.01% to 1.3626 USD, while the Japanese yen decreased by 0.04% to 146.95 USD.

The greenback fell to a three-and-a-half year low shortly after the Fed cut interest rates, but quickly recovered strongly. The USD index has bounced back to the 97 level, reflecting investors' confidence in the currency's strength amid continued US monetary easing.

In the Central Highlands region, pepper price today in Dak Lak is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 150,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Gia Lai is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 147,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Lam Dong (old Dak Nong) is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 150,000 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, pepper price today in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau) is currently at 149,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday. Dong Nai is unchanged from yesterday at 149,000 VND/kg.

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) updated the prices of all types of pepper traded in the international market on September 18 (local time) as follows:

Indonesia’s Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $7,101 per tonne. Meanwhile, Muntok white pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $10,062 per tonne.

Brazilian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,600/mt.

Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,700/ton. Meanwhile, the country’s ASTA white pepper price also remained unchanged from yesterday at $12,900/ton.

Prices of all types of Vietnamese pepper remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l reached 6,600 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 6,800 USD/ton.

In addition, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at 9,250 USD/ton.

Coffee price today September 18, 2025: Domestic price drops sharply

Domestic coffee prices today, September 18, 2025, in the Central Highlands region decreased sharply from 4,200 to 4,800 VND/kg compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 115,800 - 116,700 VND/kg.

Accordingly, traders in the old Dak Nong region are purchasing coffee at the highest price of 116,700 VND/kg, a sharp decrease of 4,800 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Similarly, coffee price in Dak Lak province is 116,500 VND/kg, down 4,700 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Coffee prices in Gia Lai province decreased by VND4,800/kg compared to yesterday and were traded at VND116,200/kg.

In Lam Dong province, coffee prices decreased by VND4,200/kg compared to yesterday and are at VND115,800/kg.

On the London Stock Exchange, the online price of Robusta coffee futures contract for September 2025 delivery reached 4,668 USD/ton, down 6.62% (331 USD/ton) compared to yesterday. The futures contract for November 2025 delivery increased 0.43% (19 USD/ton), down to 4,469 USD/ton.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for delivery in September 2025 increased by 0.68% (2.55 US cents/pound) compared to yesterday, to 378.2 US cents/pound. The contract for delivery in December 2025 increased by 0.8% (2.85 US cents/pound), to 360.15 US cents/pound.

On the Brazilian exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for delivery in September 2025 decreased by 8.8% (44.6 US cents/pound) compared to yesterday, to 461.9 US cents/pound. The contract for delivery in December 2025 increased by 0.61% (2.75 US cents/pound) to 457 US cents/pound.

Oil price today September 18, 2025: Decreased due to concerns about the US economy

Oil prices fell slightly on September 18, continuing to fall due to concerns about the US economy and oversupply, even though the Fed cut interest rates to support growth.

In the trading session on September 19, world oil prices continued to decline. Brent crude fell 26 cents to 67.69 USD/barrel, while US WTI crude lost 28 cents to 63.77 USD/barrel.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade announced new retail prices of gasoline and oil, effective from 3:00 p.m. on September 18. Specifically as follows:

- E5 RON92 gasoline price increased by 230 VND, to a maximum of 19,986 VND/liter.

- RON95 gasoline price increased by 208 VND, reaching 20,608 VND/liter.

- E10 RON 95-III gasoline price increased sharply by 560 VND, reaching 20,600 VND/liter.

- Diesel oil increased by 62 VND to 18,705 VND/liter.

- Kerosene price increased by 176 VND to 18,544 VND/liter.

- Fuel oil price increased by 40 VND, to 15,130 VND/kg.

During this period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance did not set aside or use the Price Stabilization Fund.
