Based on today's USD/VND exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,468 VND/USD), today's world gold price is equivalent to 117.8 million VND/tael. Currently, the domestic gold price is about 14.5 million VND/tael higher than the world gold price.

USD exchange rate today September 17: Slight decrease both domestically and internationally

As of 4:00 a.m. on September 17, the State Bank announced the central exchange rate at 25,208 VND/USD, down 8 VND compared to yesterday.

With a trading band of ±5%, the ceiling exchange rate that banks are allowed to list is 26,468 VND/USD, and the floor exchange rate is 23,947 VND/USD.

At the State Bank of Vietnam, the reference exchange rate was announced at 24,006 VND/USD for buying and 26,426 VND/USD for selling.

This adjustment has resulted in a slight decrease in listed exchange rates at commercial banks.

In the banking sector, Vietcombank listed the USD exchange rate at 26,188 VND/USD (buy) - 26,468 VND/USD (sell), down 8 VND compared to yesterday.

BIDV also announced the buying rate of 26,188 VND/USD and the selling rate of 26,468 VND/USD, down 22 VND and 8 VND respectively.

In the free market, the USD is traded at 26,480 VND/USD (buy) - 26,580 VND/USD (sell), unchanged from September 15.

The USD Index (DXY), which measures the greenback's strength against a basket of major currencies, fell to 97.34 points. Compared to the previous session, the EUR/USD exchange rate increased slightly by 0.01% to 1.1763; the British pound increased by 0.04% to 1.3603 USD; and the USD/JPY increased by 0.01% to 147.42 yen.

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) updated the prices of all types of pepper traded in the international market on September 17 (local time) as follows:

Indonesia's Lampung black pepper price increased sharply compared to yesterday at 7,101 USD/ton (up 0.38%). In addition, Muntok white pepper price increased sharply compared to yesterday at 10,062 USD/ton (up 0.38%).

Brazilian ASTA black pepper price increased sharply compared to yesterday at 6,600 USD/ton (up 1.54%).

Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,700/ton. Meanwhile, the country’s ASTA white pepper price also remained unchanged from yesterday at $12,900/ton.

Prices of all types of Vietnamese pepper remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l reached 6,600 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 6,800 USD/ton.

In addition, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at 9,250 USD/ton.

Coffee price today September 17, 2025: Domestic price increased sharply

Domestic coffee prices today, September 17, 2025, in the Central Highlands region continued to increase sharply compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 122,200 - 122,800 VND/kg.

Accordingly, traders in the old Dak Nong region are purchasing coffee at the highest price of 122,800 VND/kg, a sharp increase of 2,800 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Similarly, coffee price in Dak Lak province is 122,700 VND/kg, an increase of 2,700 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Coffee prices in Gia Lai province increased by VND2,700/kg compared to yesterday and were traded at VND122,500/kg.
