USD exchange rate today, October 4, 2025: The central USD exchange rate decreased.
As of 4:30 AM on October 4th, the State Bank of Vietnam announced the central USD exchange rate at 25,162 VND, a decrease of 15 VND compared to the previous day.
With a trading range of ±5%, the permitted ceiling is 26,420 VND/USD and the floor is 23,904 VND/USD.
At the State Bank of Vietnam's exchange, the buying and selling prices of USD were 23,954 and 26,370 VND respectively.
In the commercial banking system, exchange rates uniformly adjusted downwards by 10-15 dong.
Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 26,170 VND and the selling rate at 26,420 VND, while BIDV recorded rates of 26,200 - 26,420 VND.
In contrast to the banks, the USD exchange rate on the free market this morning increased by 25 dong in both directions. The buying price rose to 26,515 dong and the selling price reached 26,615 dong, significantly higher than the banks' listed rates.

On the international market, the USD Index (DXY), which measures the strength of the US dollar, stood at 97.89 points, a slight increase of 0.04% compared to yesterday.
After a volatile week, the US dollar has stabilized somewhat, but investors remain concerned about uncertainties related to the risk of a US government shutdown, inflation, and a weakening labor market.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned that the budget deficit could stifle GDP growth. President Donald Trump even announced he would drastically cut federal staff to exert political pressure.
Regarding monetary policy, Lorie Logan, President of the Dallas Federal Reserve, believes that the interest rate cut last month was appropriate to avoid job losses. She noted that the labor market is slowing down gradually and has not yet reached a point where more drastic easing is needed.
However, investors are almost certain the Fed will cut interest rates by another 25 basis points this month, and again in December, creating expectations of a clearer downward trend towards the end of the year.
Pepper prices today, October 4, 2025: Domestic prices slightly decreased.
Today's pepper prices in key growing regions have decreased slightly compared to yesterday. As a result, the average domestic pepper price is between 144,000 VND/kg and 146,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, in Gia Lai, the price of pepper today is 144,000 VND/kg, a slight decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Pepper prices in Ho Chi Minh City decreased by 1000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, with traders buying pepper at 145,000 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, in Lam Dong, the market price of pepper is being purchased by traders at 145,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day.
Pepper prices in Dak Lak remain unchanged, recorded at 146,000 VND/kg.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market on October 4th (local time) as follows:
Specifically, the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper increased slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$7,013/ton (up 0.41%). In addition, the price of Muntok white pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at US$9,938/ton (up 0.4%).
Brazilian ASTA black pepper prices fell sharply compared to yesterday, reaching $6200/ton (down 4.84%).
Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices have fallen sharply compared to yesterday, currently standing at US$9,500/ton (down 1.05%). Additionally, the price of ASTA white pepper from the same country has also decreased significantly compared to yesterday, reaching US$12,500/ton (down 4%).
Prices for all types of Vietnamese pepper remain unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) is 6600 USD/ton; and (550 gr/l) is 6800 USD/ton.
In addition, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at 9250 USD/ton.
Coffee prices today, October 4, 2025: Sharp decline domestically.
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, October 4, 2025, decreased sharply compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 114,500 and 115,600 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in the former Dak Nong region are buying coffee at a maximum of 115,600 VND/kg, a sharp decrease of 2,300 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province is 115,500 VND/kg, a decrease of 2,200 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province decreased by 2,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday and are trading at 115,000 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee decreased by 2000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, reaching 114,500 VND/kg.

On the London exchange, the online price of robusta coffee futures for November 2025 delivery reached $4,573 per ton, up 5.81% ($251 per ton) from yesterday. The January 2026 futures contract increased 5.39% ($233 per ton), reaching $4,558 per ton.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for December 2025 delivery rose 2.04% (7.7 US cents/pound) compared to yesterday, reaching 385.8 US cents/pound. The March 2026 contract increased 1.77% (6.4 US cents/pound), to 368.85 US cents/pound.

On the Brazilian exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for December 2025 delivery rose 1.81% (8.2 US cents/lb) compared to yesterday, reaching 462.05 US cents/lb. The March 2026 contract increased 1.43% (6.45 US cents/lb), reaching 455.95 US cents/lb.

Gasoline and diesel prices today, October 4, 2025: Sharp drop all week.
World oil prices stabilized at the end of the week but still recorded a 7-8% decline due to concerns about increased OPEC+ supply in November.
Oil prices recovered slightly during trading on October 4th. Brent crude rose 0.5% to $64.40 per barrel, while US WTI crude also increased 0.5% to $60.75 per barrel.
However, overall for the week, Brent crude prices fell 8.2% and WTI fell 7.6%. This was the deepest weekly decline in months, reflecting investor caution ahead of new decisions from OPEC+.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced new retail fuel prices effective from 3 PM on October 2nd. Specifically, they are as follows:
- The price of E5 RON92 gasoline increased by 10 VND/liter, down to 19,620 VND/liter.
- The price of RON 95-III gasoline increased by 40 VND/liter, to 20,200 VND/liter.
- Diesel fuel prices increased slightly by 380 VND/liter, to 19,030 VND/liter.
- The price of kerosene increased by 380 VND/liter to 19,000 VND/liter.
- The price of fuel oil increased by 170 VND/kg, to 15,370 VND/kg.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, domestic fuel price fluctuations are heavily influenced by the international market. Over the past seven days, OPEC+ has increased production and is expected to further expand it in November.
In addition, rising US crude oil inventories and tensions in Ukraine disrupted energy supplies from Russia. These factors pushed global fuel prices higher than the previous period: the average price of RON 95 gasoline increased by 0.3% to $80.7 per barrel, diesel increased by 2.4%, and fuel oil increased by 1.75%.
Rubber prices today, October 4, 2025: Continuing to fall.
In Singapore, October 2025 rubber futures prices fell 1.67% ($2.9/tonne) compared to yesterday, to $170/tonne. November 2025 futures contracts rose 0.18% ($0.3/tonne), reaching $170.2/tonne.

At the opening of trading on October 4th in China, the price of October 2025 rubber futures on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) fell 1.44% (210 yuan) to 14,265 yuan/tonne. The price of November 2025 rubber futures fell 0.75% (110 yuan) to 14,365 yuan/tonne.

At the time of this survey, the price of RSS3 on the TOCOM Commodity Exchange (Tokyo) for November 2025 delivery decreased by 5.38% (17.1 Yen/kg) compared to yesterday, to 300.4 Yen/kg. The December 2025 contract decreased by 7.14% (22.7 Yen/kg), reaching 294.6 Yen/kg.

As of 4:30 AM on October 4, 2025, cocoa prices traded on the New York exchange for December 2025 delivery fell 16.53% (US$1229/ton) compared to yesterday, to US$6202/ton. The March 2026 contract decreased 15.16% (US$1111/ton), reaching US$6211/ton.

At the time of this survey, London cocoa prices for December 2025 delivery were down 4.89% (221 GBP/tonne) compared to yesterday, at 4292 GBP/tonne. The March 2026 contract was down 4.38% (200 GBP/tonne), reaching 4351 GBP/tonne.
