Nghe An Provincial Youth Union launches campaign to prevent forest fires.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 22nd, at the launching ceremony for the 2017 forest fire prevention campaign, the Provincial Youth Union outlined three key areas that young people need to focus on to ensure the campaign's effectiveness.

| The launching ceremony for the first phase of the 2017 forest fire prevention and control campaign, which included clearing firebreaks and collecting undergrowth, was held in Nam Tan commune, Nam Dan district. The event was attended by representatives of the local government; leaders of the Provincial Youth Union; relevant departments, agencies, and organizations; and hundreds of youth union members from Nam Dan district. |
The purpose of this campaign is to raise awareness and encourage young people to actively and voluntarily participate in forest protection and fire prevention activities; and to create a widespread emulation movement among young people in building a safe, green, clean, and beautiful forest environment.
Propaganda and volunteer activities related to forest fire prevention and control must be carried out regularly, systematically, in depth, and with absolute safety; effectively linked to the implementation of Directive 05 dated April 11, 2017, of the People's Committee of Nghe An province on strengthening urgent measures for forest fire prevention and control in Nghe An province in 2017.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Pham Ngoc Canh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union - emphasized that, in order to effectively implement forest protection and fire prevention work in 2017, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union requested all levels of the Youth Union, Youth Association, and Children's Union and young people throughout the province to effectively implement 3 contents:

Strengthen the dissemination of the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws on forest protection and forest fire prevention and control, in order to raise awareness and promote action among young people and all segments of the population in protecting and preventing forest fires.
Every official, member, and young person should take concrete and practical action to protect forests and prevent and fight forest fires; and promptly report to the authorities any violations of the law that pose a risk of causing forest fires.
Establish "Youth Shock Teams" and "Youth Volunteer Teams" to participate in protection and fire prevention and control activities.

At the ceremony, departments, agencies, and organizations at all levels signed a pledge to participate in the forest fire prevention and control emulation campaign. Following the launch ceremony, hundreds of youth union members cleared undergrowth, collected flammable materials from the forest; repaired, cleaned, and created firebreaks according to the survey and marking scheme agreed upon by the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, the Nam Dan District Youth Union, and the Nam Dan Protective Forest Management Board.
Also at the ceremony, the Provincial Youth Union leaders presented gifts to encourage the spirit of the youth union members in performing their duties well and contributing to effective forest fire prevention.
