(Baonghean.vn) -To commemorate the 69th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2016), on the afternoon of July 25, the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, led by Comrade Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, visited historical sites to offer incense and flowers in remembrance of the heroic martyrs and to visit and present gifts to families of war invalids and martyrs.

The delegation visited the Soviet-Nghe Tinh Cemetery (Hung Nguyen district) to offer incense and flowers in remembrance of the heroic martyrs. This was the site of the Soviet-Nghe Tinh uprising on September 12, 1930 - the first uprising under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam since its founding and the peak of the revolutionary movement in the years 1930-1931.

The delegation visited Mrs. Nguyen Thi Khanh (99 years old) - the mother of martyr Nguyen Thi Hoai, who sacrificed her life while on duty at the Truong Bon historical site.

During the war against American bombs and bullets, at the Truong Bon battlefield, 1240 cadres, soldiers, Youth Volunteers, and transportation workers bravely fought and sacrificed their lives. Particularly on October 31, 1968, 13 soldiers from Company 317 of the Nghe An Youth Volunteer Force died here while on duty.

This is the resting place of more than 10,000 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed their lives while fulfilling their noble international duty in Laos, for the independence and peace of the two brotherly countries of Vietnam and Laos.
