The first semi-final of the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament was a fiery clash between two long-standing rivals: the defending champions Nghi Loc Youth Team and Vinh City Youth Team. These two teams are the top contenders for this year's title.

In the group stage, TN Tp.Vinh secured first place in Group A with a perfect 9 points after 3 matches, with a goal difference of +18. In Group C, TN Nghi Loc won two matches against TN Quy Hop and TN Quy Chau (a group with 3 teams), securing the only ticket to the semi-finals.

There can only be one champion. Before the match, both teams were wary of each other's strength. The coaches of TN Tp.Vinh and TN Nghi Loc both fielded their key players and the strongest possible lineups right from the start.
