The Bishop's Office of the Vinh Diocese congratulates Nghe An province on the occasion of National Day, September 2nd.
On the morning of August 26th, on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2nd, 1945 - September 2nd, 2026), a delegation from the Vinh Diocese, led by Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long - Bishop of the Vinh Diocese, visited and congratulated Nghe An province.

The delegation included Bishop Peter Nguyen Van Vien - Auxiliary Bishop of the Vinh Diocese, along with priests and dignitaries from the Diocese.
The delegation was welcomed by Comrade Vo Trong Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Also present were leaders from several relevant departments and agencies.
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, sharing in the joy of the whole country celebrating National Day on September 2nd, Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long expressed his delight at visiting and congratulating the leaders of Nghe An province on the occasion of this great national holiday.
On this occasion, Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long respectfully thanked the Party Committee, the provincial government, and the departments and agencies for their attention and support to the activities of the Vinh Diocese as well as the lives of Catholic people in the area.

Looking back over the past 81 years, Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long expressed his joy at the great achievements the country has attained.
Vietnam is gradually asserting its position and prestige in the region and internationally, the lives of its people are improving, and the country is constantly developing, including the development of Nghe An province.
On the occasion of National Day, September 2nd, Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long sent his best wishes to the leaders of Nghe An province; wishing them continued enthusiasm, dedication, and virtue in their leadership and administration, working together with the people to build a more prosperous Nghe An homeland.

Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long stated that, in keeping with the spirit of this great holiday, the Vinh Diocese will organize prayer activities for the nation and its people on this year's National Day.
Expressing sincere gratitude for the affection, concern, and kind wishes from the Vinh Diocese Bishop's Office delegation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai expressed his joy at welcoming the delegation on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of National Day.

Sharing information about the province's development, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai said that in recent years, Nghe An's socio-economic situation has continued to experience many positive changes. The infrastructure system, especially transportation infrastructure, has been gradually invested in and improved; the investment and business environment continues to improve; and more and more large enterprises and corporations are interested in investing in the area, creating new impetus for development.
Along with attracting investment and promoting economic growth, Nghe An province pays special attention to ensuring social security and improving the quality of essential services, especially healthcare and education.
The goal is to increasingly expand people's access to basic services, contributing to improving the quality of life and ensuring that all citizens benefit from the fruits of development.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the province's consistent viewpoint is that wherever people are still facing difficulties, the government must pay attention; existing problems and obstacles must be proactively resolved through dialogue and coordination in the spirit of upholding the law, harmonizing interests, and creating consensus among the people.
Comrade Vo Trong Hai respectfully thanked the Vinh Diocese Bishopric, the bishops, priests, dignitaries, and Catholic compatriots for always accompanying the Party Committee, the government, and the people of the province in the construction and development of the homeland; actively participating in patriotic emulation movements, social welfare activities, and caring for the lives of the people, especially those in difficult circumstances.
Nghe An province has always considered building and strengthening national unity as a crucial task. In this process, the active participation and contributions of religious organizations, religious leaders, officials, and followers are an important part of building social consensus, maintaining political stability, and promoting socio-economic development.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his wish that Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long, Bishop Peter Nguyen Van Vien, and other priests and religious leaders would continue to pay attention to, support, and accompany the provincial Party Committee and government in the process of implementing socio-economic development tasks; and continue to lead, encourage, and motivate Catholic compatriots to unite and effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, and the province's development orientations and goals.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai affirmed that the province will continue to pay attention to promptly resolving legitimate and appropriate religious needs in accordance with the law; at the same time, creating favorable conditions for Catholic people and religious organizations to operate effectively and make positive contributions to the overall development of the locality.
According to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, strengthening coordination between the government and the Bishopric aims not only to promptly resolve specific issues arising in practice, but more importantly, to contribute to creating a stable foundation and consolidating consensus, so that Catholic people can effectively implement the motto "living a good life and practicing a beautiful faith," working together to build their homeland of Nghe An, striving to become a prosperous province of the country by 2030, a national-level growth pole, worthy of being the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh.
