November is not just a milestone in the year; for Vietnamese people, it's also the time when the tradition of "national unity" is most strongly awakened. No matter how far away they are or how busy they are with work, everyone longs to return and immerse themselves in the National Unity Day – a time when the community gathers, where neighborly love is rekindled, and where the enduring values of community culture continue to be passed down through generations.

Having been organized for over 20 years, the National Unity Day has not only become an annual event but has also been elevated to a special cultural and political symbol, closely associated with the 95-year history of the formation and development of the Vietnam National United Front (now the Vietnam Fatherland Front).

The 2025 National Unity Day in Nghe An took place in an atmosphere of innovation, in line with the practical realities of the two-tiered local government, most clearly demonstrated in the closeness, thoroughness, and companionship of the Front's officials with the people.

Comrade Nguyen Tien Sang - Head of the Front Committee of Hamlet 1, Anh Son Dong Commune, shared: “The highlight of this year's festival is the spirit of "being close to the people, serving the people." After work, Front Committee officials and political and social organizations directly went to each residential area to guide, support, and participate with the people. Thanks to this, all activities of the festival became practical, lively, and highly impactful.”

In Hamlet 1, as well as throughout the hamlets, villages, and communities across the province, leaders at all levels were present in an atmosphere of togetherness, unity, and close ties between the Party and the people. Within each home, each football field, and each cultural center, the spirit of "the Party's will and the people's hearts" was naturally connected, close, and deeply ingrained in the community's consciousness.

Mr. Phan Cong Tram, a resident of Hamlet 1, shared emotionally:"The event was truly meaningful. Regardless of whether they were officials or ordinary citizens, young or old, everyone contributed whatever talent they had. Even elderly people who usually stayed home came to the volleyball court to cheer and watch the cultural performances. Officials, civil servants, and workers all tried to arrange their schedules to come together as a united front.”

The festival also provided an opportunity for each residential area to reflect on the results of a year of collective effort and unity. In Van Quang hamlet, Thuan Trung commune, the joy was even more complete as the community looked back at the noticeable changes: the residential area was recognized as "United and Peaceful"; many self-governing models proved effective; the material and spiritual lives of the people improved; and social welfare work was strengthened with joint efforts to support poor and disadvantaged households and contribute to people in disaster-stricken areas.

Sharing in the joy with the people, Comrade Ho Le Ngoc - Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department - emphasized: "To achieve unity, every collective, every cadre, Party member, and citizen must act together for a common goal: building a developed homeland and improving the people's lives." This is also the message that the people of Van Quang have internalized, reminding themselves to continue to unite and strive for progress.

Throughout the province, the 2025 National Unity Day was held simultaneously in 100% of residential areas, from urban centers to remote villages, mountainous regions, and border areas. Despite varying scales, the overall spirit remained solemn, economical, and deeply rooted in local culture. A rich and engaging array of cultural, sporting, and folk game activities created a joyful and unifying atmosphere. People personally crafted their own props, prepared the venues, and decorated the festival spaces – all reflecting the distinctive "homegrown" spirit of Nghe An province.

Many places organize "Solidarity Meals," meals that not only strengthen family bonds but also inspire sharing and responsibility towards the community, in the true spirit of: a celebration of joy, a celebration of happiness, a celebration of working together in unity.

Alongside the celebratory activities, Comrade Hoang Thi Thanh Minh - Head of the Propaganda and Social Work Department of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee - stated that many localities have implemented practical activities aimed at and for the people, such as visiting and encouraging policy beneficiary families, meritorious individuals, and veteran revolutionary cadres; caring for and supporting the poor and those in difficult circumstances; donating gifts and "Great Solidarity" houses; and commencing and completing many public works projects to serve the lives of the people.

Community-based self-governance models, such as environmental protection, maintaining security and order, and socio-economic development, continue to be launched, creating noticeable changes in people's lives and awareness.

In response to the National Unity Day, localities throughout the province launched a movement to clean and beautify village roads and alleys, creating a green, clean, and beautiful landscape and fostering a civilized lifestyle. The event also served as a space to showcase traditional craft products, agricultural products, and OCOP (One Commune One Product) products, promote tourism, and connect economic and cultural development at the grassroots level.

This is also an opportunity to evaluate the emulation movement, honor exemplary individuals, and launch activities to celebrate the 16th Provincial Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the 14th National Congress of the Party, contributing to spreading the "All People Unite to Build New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas" campaign, and arousing the spirit of self-reliance, self-improvement, and the will to strive for progress among all strata of the people.

The spirit of national unity is not only manifested through the "National Unity Day" but is also a precious tradition that has been forged over the past 95 years under the leadership of the Party and the consolidation and strengthening of the National United Front (now the Vietnam Fatherland Front), becoming a core value that has created Vietnam's strength in various revolutionary periods.

It is not only a precious spiritual heritage but also a practical foundation, directly contributing to the outstanding achievements of the country and of Nghe An province on the journey of innovation and development.

Nghe An is a province with diverse topography: plains, mountains, and islands; a large population with many ethnic groups and religions; and is home to millions of people living, working, and studying in their homeland and throughout the country, as well as in more than 110 countries around the world.

The tradition of "comradeship and brotherhood" has become an invaluable resource for the Party Committee, government, and people to overcome difficulties and achieve rapid and sustainable development; it is a crucial foundation of consensus for effectively implementing patriotic emulation movements and major campaigns bearing the mark of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

From that collective resource, in the last five years, the entire province has supported nearly 875,000 poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households with a total resource of over 5,805 billion VND, contributing to strengthening social security at the grassroots level. Nghe An also became a shining example nationwide when it completed 20,802 houses ahead of schedule in the movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025," and was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the Party and the State.

The movement "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" continues to spread strongly, contributing to 275 out of 362 communes achieving new rural area standards; 102 communes achieving advanced standards and 16 communes achieving model standards before the implementation of the two-tiered local government system…

Comrade Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, said: Currently, the whole country in general and Nghe An in particular are entering a new stage of development with many intertwined opportunities and challenges. In this context, the requirement is to elevate national unity to a fundamental strategy, institutionalized in the documents of the 14th National Congress of the Party and the Resolution of the 20th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030.

This is not only a political task, but also the "key" to realizing the aspiration of making Nghe An a prosperous province and a national-level growth pole in the new era.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province emphasized: The strength of unity is not only the crystallization of tradition, but also an important intrinsic driving force for the future. From the results of today's National Unity Day, it can be seen that when the people are listened to, participate, and their spirit of community cohesion is awakened, the strength of the national unity bloc is multiplied many times over, becoming an especially important resource for Nghe An's rapid, comprehensive, and sustainable development in the new period.
