On the evening of November 20th, the opening ceremony of the 2022 World Cup officially took place at the Al Bayt Stadium in Qatar.

Attending the opening ceremony were FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the Emir of Qatar, Tamin bin Hamad Al Thani.

The ceremony began with performances showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Arab world.

The performances were presented in both Arabic and English.

Camels—symbols of life in the desert region—also made an appearance.

Outside Al Bayt Stadium, a large crowd of fans jostled, trying to get inside to watch the opening match.

Following the cultural performances showcasing the distinct characteristics of the Arab world, the theme song from previous World Cups was performed.

The actors held up the national flags of the countries whose teams participated in the 2022 World Cup.

The mascots from previous World Cups appear to evoke unforgettable memories for viewers of past tournaments.

Then the 2022 World Cup mascot, La'eeb, appeared to the excitement of the Al Bayt stadium crowd.

BTS's Jung Kook appeared to perform the official song of the 2022 World Cup.

Concluding the opening ceremony, the Emir of Qatar, Tamin bin Hamad Al Thani, stated: "We welcome everyone to the 2022 World Cup. We will make the 2022 World Cup the most successful in history, and Qatar is working hard to achieve this. Finally, we have reached the milestone of the 2022 World Cup opening day. For the next 28 days, we will be watching the tournament together with football fans around the world. Welcome to Qatar!"

Following the opening ceremony, the first match of the 2022 World Cup will take place between host nation Qatar and Ecuador.
