(Baonghean.vn) - In the first nine months of 2016, Nghe An added three more export items to the US: wood and wood products, various types of stone, and dried garlic.
Exports to the United States represent a market with great potential. In 2011, export turnover to the US was only $2.9 million, accounting for 1.3%, but by 2015, export turnover to this market reached $25.7 million. Exported goods include: textiles, children's toys, gas lighters, handicrafts, fruit juices, etc.

However, exports to the US remain modest, with export turnover to the US market accounting for only about 2.4%-2.6% of the province's total merchandise export turnover, much lower than exports to China (38.3%) and South Korea (22.8%).
In the first nine months of 2016, Nghe An province added three more export items to the US market: wood and wood products, with export value reaching US$498,940; various types of stone, reaching US$153,220; and dried garlic, reaching US$37,441. However, export value to the US market is declining, reaching only US$7.891 million, a decrease of 54% compared to the same period in 2015.
Of these, textiles and garments, the largest export item, only reached $3.674 million, a decrease of 54.2%; children's toys reached $2.095 million, a decrease of 66.9%; handicrafts reached $126,617, a decrease of 81.83%; fruits and fruit juices reached $149,315, a decrease of 58.9%...
