Quynh Luu district has the largest shrimp farming area in the province with 400 hectares, concentrated in the communes of Quynh Bang, Quynh Minh, Quynh Thanh, and An Hoa. As in previous years, after favorable weather conditions, farmers began preparing their ponds and purchasing equipment and machinery to support the shrimp farming process. In particular, many households have adopted advanced techniques such as using heat-resistant covers, constructing separate water supply and drainage systems for their ponds, and using standardized industrial feed to prepare for the shrimp farming season.
Shrimp farming for the first crop began in early April, and after nearly three months, farmers are now harvesting. The entire district has harvested nearly 500 tons of shrimp from the first crop out of an estimated annual production of 2,500 tons. The yield for the first crop is estimated at 3.5 tons per hectare.
