Also attending were: members of the Politburo, members of the Secretariat, members of the Central Committee of the Party, leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, leaders of ministries, branches, central and Ho Chi Minh City organizations.

After hearing the report from the representative of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and listening to some opinions from representatives of workers and laborers, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his emotion at the simple yet very precious stories.

Simple things in life reflect the beauty of Vietnamese workers today: diligence, hard work, strong will, responsibility, love for family, loyalty to colleagues, to the company, to the trade union, and to the country.

The General Secretary and President were pleased to note that, in recent times, trade unions at all levels, the Ho Chi Minh City government, businesses, and the community have undertaken many practical actions to care for workers and laborers.

Many programs have been implemented to support housing, healthcare, provide gifts to struggling workers, assist workers' children, help workers with serious illnesses, work-related accidents, and job losses. While these actions may not solve all difficulties, they are very heartwarming and humane, reflecting the true good nature of our system, ensuring that no one is left behind.

Sharing in the difficulties and hardships that workers are still facing, the General Secretary and President emphasized that we must look directly at the issues, listen carefully, and resolve them with responsibility and compassion.

Caring for workers is not just about providing material support during holidays; more importantly, it means creating stable jobs, better incomes, a safer working environment, decent housing, more convenient access to schools, closer medical services, and a richer cultural and spiritual life. Workers must live in increasingly better conditions, commensurate with their significant contributions to the enterprise, the city, and the country.

The General Secretary and President affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam have always considered the working class to be a very important force in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Throughout every stage of the revolution, Vietnamese workers have always been present in difficult and challenging places, on construction sites, in factories, in industrial zones, and in various fields of production, services, transportation, technology, processing, and manufacturing. Their hands, minds, sweat, and creativity have contributed to the country's development achievements.

The General Secretary and President requested that Ho Chi Minh City continue to consider caring for the lives of workers and laborers as an important, regular, and long-term political task.

The city needs to conduct a more thorough review of the needs for social housing, worker accommodation, schools, kindergartens, health centers, cultural facilities, and community centers in industrial zones, export processing zones, and areas with a large number of workers; ensuring that workers not only have jobs but also stable housing; not only income but also the means to raise their children; and not only work but also have opportunities for rest, study, recreation, and improving their spiritual well-being.

The General Secretary and President requested that all levels of trade unions be closer to workers, understand them better, speak their voice, and effectively protect their legitimate rights and interests. Trade unions must be present promptly when workers face difficulties, illness, unpaid wages, job losses, work accidents, or other life events. Trade unions should not only be places for organizing movements, but must truly be a warm home and a reliable support for union members and workers.

Businesses and employers continue to pay more attention to their workers. For businesses to develop sustainably, they must care for their employees; they must ensure fair wages, benefits, working conditions, and workplace safety; they must listen to initiatives, respect human dignity, and create opportunities for learning and skill development. When employees feel secure, committed, and proud of their workplace, businesses will be stronger, more stable, and more sustainable in the long term.

The General Secretary and President shared that our country is entering a new stage of development with many opportunities but also many difficulties and challenges. Science and technology are changing very rapidly; the demands for productivity, quality, and professional skills are increasingly high.

The General Secretary and President expressed his wish that workers and laborers continue to maintain their faith, solidarity, and determination to excel; actively learn new skills, improve their expertise, cultivate an industrial work ethic, labor discipline, digital skills, and foreign languages if possible. Each worker should strive to learn a new skill, improve their work every day, boldly propose initiatives and technical improvements, save materials, ensure safety, and enhance product quality.

The General Secretary and President suggested that innovation is not something far-fetched. Innovation can begin with a more efficient operation, a more scientific arrangement of the production line, an idea that saves time, reduces accidents, lessens hardship, and increases productivity. These simple initiatives, if appreciated and replicated, will create immense strength for businesses and the economy.

The General Secretary and President emphasized that despite the hardships of life, workers and laborers maintain their health, care for their families, raise their children, and live with compassion, solidarity, and mutual support in their dormitories, factories, and communities. Vietnamese workers are not only skilled in their work but also beautiful in their hearts, compassion, and sharing in times of difficulty.

The General Secretary and President shared that behind the growth targets, behind the factories, industrial parks, and production lines, there are the very concrete lives of each worker, each worker's family, and each child of workers. Every correct policy, every practical action, every timely act of care can help a family alleviate difficulties, give a sick person more strength, provide a child with better opportunities to go to school, and give a worker more faith in the future.

With the tradition of compassion and solidarity of Ho Chi Minh City, and with the responsibility of the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front, the Trade Union, businesses, and the entire society, the General Secretary and President believe that the lives of workers and laborers will continue to improve; that workers and laborers in Ho Chi Minh City will continue to uphold the tradition of diligence, creativity, compassion, and solidarity; taking good care of their families while making worthy contributions to the development of the city named after President Ho Chi Minh and of our beloved Vietnam.
