(Baonghean.vn) - This year marks the 115th anniversary of the birth of Comrade General Secretary Le Duan (April 7, 1907 - April 7, 2022). He was a staunch communist fighter, an outstanding leader of the Party and the People, and a brilliant disciple of President Ho Chi Minh.

Comrade Le Duan was born on April 7, 1907, in Trieu Thanh commune, Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province. His life and revolutionary career were closely linked to the revolutionary process of the Vietnamese nation.

From a patriotic young man passionate about revolutionary ideals, Comrade Le Duan soon became a soldier in the first generation of the Party's elite. While engaging in revolutionary activities and studying, he enthusiastically read Nguyen Ai Quoc's *The Revolutionary Path*, the Thanh Nien (Youth) newspaper, and the works of Marx, Engels, and Lenin... gradually building up his knowledge, enhancing his patriotism and revolutionary will.

Because of his close association with President Ho Chi Minh, he always received his direct guidance and direction. This provided a favorable condition for him to absorb and creatively develop Ho Chi Minh's thought in the areas of work assigned to him by the organization.

Comrade was entrusted with many important responsibilities by the Party and the revolution, such as: Member of the Propaganda Department of the Northern Regional Party Committee (1931), Secretary of the Provisional Central Regional Party Committee (1937), Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Party Committee (1939), Secretary of the Southern Regional Party Committee and Secretary of the Central Bureau of the Southern Region (1946-1947), Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Party Committee (1951-1959). He was active throughout all three regions of the country...

For nearly 26 consecutive years as First Secretary and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, amidst extremely serious challenges facing the country and complex international developments, Comrade [Name], together with the Politburo and the Central Committee, steadfastly pursued the path of independence and self-reliance, sought international aid and assistance, and wisely led the people and revolutionary armed forces nationwide to defeat the American invaders and their puppets, liberate the South, and unify the Fatherland.

After the country's liberation, Comrade Le Duan, along with the Politburo and the Central Committee of the Party, focused much effort on formulating the guidelines for national construction and defense. Regardless of his position, he was wholeheartedly devoted to the Party and the people, fulfilling all assigned tasks. Comrade Le Duan possessed the qualities of a pioneer, a role model, and a commitment to maintaining unity within the Party. He also cared deeply about building and strengthening national unity, and always prioritized the close relationship between the Party and the people.

As a great patriot, a staunch communist fighter, and an outstanding disciple of President Ho Chi Minh, Comrade Le Duan's steadfast and rich revolutionary life serves as a shining example for cadres, party members, and the people of Vietnam. It exemplifies boundless loyalty to the supreme interests of the Fatherland and the people, to the lofty communist ideal; and a willingness to sacrifice his life for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the happiness of the people.
