General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong receives Czech President Milos Zeman
On the afternoon of June 7, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong cordially received Czech President Milos Zeman who is visiting Vietnam.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong welcomed Czech President Milos Zeman's visit to Vietnam, assessing the visit as having important significance, contributing to promoting the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.
The General Secretary informed President Milos Zeman of some basic features of the recent situation in Vietnam; thanked the Czech people for their valuable and effective assistance to Vietnam in the past struggle for national liberation and reunification as well as in the current cause of national protection and construction (including human resource training); and highly appreciated the achievements that the Czech Republic has made in the process of integration and development.

Mr. Milos Zeman expressed his pleasure to visit Vietnam; thanked the warm welcome and good feelings that the Vietnamese leaders and people had for the Delegation.
The President informed the General Secretary about some major features of the recent situation in the Czech Republic and about the good results of the talks and meetings with Vietnamese leaders.
President Milos Zeman stressed that the Czech Republic attaches great importance to consolidating and developing the traditional friendship and cooperation with Vietnam and affirmed that it will make efforts to promote the implementation of cooperation agreements signed between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, culture, education, science, sports, etc., creating a substantial change in bilateral relations. The Czech President wished the Vietnamese people to achieve even greater achievements in the cause of innovation to build a prosperous and strong Vietnam.

The General Secretary welcomed the results of the talks between the President and President Tran Dai Quang; emphasized that over the 67 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the relationship between the two countries is in a period of good development; suggested that the two sides continue to maintain delegation exchanges at all levels, strengthen cooperation between ministries, sectors, localities and enterprises to implement the agreements signed between the two countries.
The General Secretary thanked the Czech Government for creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live and work in the Czech Republic, in order to better promote its role as an effective bridge for the relationship between the two countries./.
