General Secretary To Lam leaves for official visit to Finland
On October 20, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, departed for an official visit to the Republic of Finland from October 20 to 22, at the invitation of President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb.
The delegation included Politburo members Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission; Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Party Central Committee members Pham Gia Tuc, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Head of the Party Central Committee's Policy and Strategy Commission; Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Science and Technology; Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Industry and Trade; Tran Duc Thang, Acting Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Vo Van Dung, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Party Central Committee for Internal Affairs; Bui Thi Quynh Van, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Organization Commission; To An Xo, Assistant to the General Secretary, in charge of the General Secretary's Office. Vietnamese Ambassador to Finland Pham Thi Thanh Binh joined the delegation.

General Secretary To Lam's official visit to Finland is the highest-level visit by a Vietnamese leader to Finland since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1973, demonstrating Vietnam's appreciation for the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Finland.
The visit significantly contributes to strengthening political trust, people-to-people exchanges and connections between businesses of the two countries, thereby creating momentum for shaping strategic cooperation between Vietnam and Finland in the coming time. According to the Vietnamese Ambassador to Finland, the visit is a symbol of a new era of cooperation between the two countries - an era of innovation, knowledge and green development.
