General Secretary To Lam departs for an official visit to Finland.
On October 20th, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam, and his wife, Ngo Phuong Ly, along with a high-level Vietnamese delegation, departed for an official visit to the Republic of Finland from October 20th to 22nd, at the invitation of President Alexander Stubb of the Republic of Finland.
The delegation included members of the Politburo: Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission; Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Central Committee and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs; and members of the Central Committee: Pham Gia Tuc, Chief of the Central Party Office; Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee; Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Science and Technology; Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Industry and Trade; Tran Duc Thang, Acting Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Vo Van Dung, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; Bui Thi Quynh Van, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee; and To An Xo, Assistant to the General Secretary and Head of the General Secretary's Office. The Vietnamese Ambassador to Finland, Pham Thi Thanh Binh, also participated in the delegation.

General Secretary To Lam's official visit to Finland is the highest-level visit by a Vietnamese leader to Finland since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1973, demonstrating Vietnam's appreciation for the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Finland.
The visit significantly contributed to strengthening political trust, people-to-people exchanges, and business connections between the two countries, thereby creating momentum for shaping strategic cooperation between Vietnam and Finland in the future. According to the Vietnamese Ambassador to Finland, the visit symbolizes a new era of cooperation between the two countries – an era of innovation, knowledge, and green development.
