Delivering a speech at the ceremony, Lieutenant General, Professor, Doctor Le Huu Song, Director of the Central Military Hospital 108, stated that exactly 75 years ago, amidst the arduous years of the nation's resistance war, the Central Military Hospital 108 was established with a sacred mission: to care for and treat wounded and sick soldiers, protect the health of troops, and serve the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
Throughout the nation's protracted resistance wars, the arduous years of national reconstruction, and the current era of deep international integration, generations of medical staff and employees of the Hospital have always upheld the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers," demonstrating unity, initiative, self-reliance, and resilience, overcoming countless difficulties and hardships to successfully complete all assigned tasks.
From the rudimentary treatment facilities of the war, the Central Military Hospital 108 proudly stands today as a strategic, top-tier military hospital, a national special-class hospital, and a leading center for advanced, specialized medicine in the military and the entire country—a place where the intellect, courage, and humanitarian spirit of Vietnamese military medicine converge.

Throughout its development, the Hospital has always been honored to be entrusted by the Party, State, and Army with the particularly important task of protecting and caring for the health of high-ranking leaders of the Party, State, and Army, while also serving the health needs of soldiers and the people.
Inheriting a 75-year tradition of heroism and innovation, the Central Military Hospital 108 is constantly undergoing comprehensive reforms, gradually affirming its pioneering role in Vietnamese military medicine in the new era. This is built upon the values forged over many generations.
In recent years, despite increasingly demanding professional tasks and a large workload, the hospital has maintained stable and sustainable growth. Professional and service quality have continuously improved, and the core values of "Happiness - Academic Excellence - Dedication - Wisdom - Trust" have spread widely, affirming the hospital's reputation and brand within the military and the national healthcare system.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the medical profession is a special one, and the title of "doctor" is a noble one, representing the convergence of intellect, science, compassion, and humanity; where every professional decision is linked to human life.
During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh instructed: "A good doctor must be like a loving mother." This sacred teaching has become a guiding principle and the highest ethical standard for generations of Vietnamese doctors. Based on this noble ideology and morality, the officers, staff, soldiers, and doctors of the Central Military Hospital 108 have strived to develop and grow the hospital into the strong and thriving institution it is today.
The General Secretary was pleased to note that, throughout its construction and development, the Central Military Hospital 108 has always excellently fulfilled its particularly important mission: caring for and protecting the health of high-ranking leaders of the Party, State, and Army, as well as high-ranking leaders of Laos and Cambodia – a mission that demands high professional expertise, firm political resolve, and a high sense of responsibility.
The hospital's medical team has mastered many modern medical techniques, especially in the field of tissue and organ transplantation; maintaining its position as one of the largest organ transplantation centers in the country and a leading liver transplant facility in Vietnam, contributing to affirming the professional capacity of Vietnamese medicine on the international stage.
Beyond being a treatment center, the hospital is also a leading institution for medical training and research, boasting a team of highly qualified professors, doctors, and scientists; constantly expanding international cooperation and mastering modern medical advancements.
At the same time, the hospital has effectively implemented digital transformation and electronic medical records throughout the entire hospital, gradually building a smart and modern hospital model, improving management efficiency and the quality of patient care.
Entering a new stage of national development, with the rapid transformation of global medical science and the increasingly deep trend of international integration and cooperation, the demands on the cause of protecting, caring for, and improving the health of the people are becoming higher, more comprehensive, and more rigorous. The General Secretary requested that the hospital continue to be built systematically, with a long-term vision, so that it truly becomes a reliable support for the military and the people.

With the great trust and expectations of the Party, the State, the Army, and the people, the General Secretary requested that the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, professors, doctors, scientists, and the entire staff of the Central Military Hospital 108 continue to thoroughly understand the Party's viewpoint on protecting, caring for, and improving the health of the people in the new situation; promote the tradition of unity, creativity, and strive to overcome difficulties; steadfastly build a clean and strong Party Committee and a comprehensively strong, exemplary, and outstanding hospital; regularly educate on medical ethics and professional conduct, build an exemplary cultural environment throughout the hospital, and effectively implement President Ho Chi Minh's teaching, "A good doctor must also be a kind mother"; focus on building high-quality human resources; establish mechanisms for identifying, training, attracting, and utilizing talent, and create conditions for the medical staff to maximize their creative abilities and contributions.
To become a leading medical center in the country and the region.
The General Secretary requested that the hospital continuously maintain and comprehensively improve its professional quality in all aspects, always thoroughly adhering to the principle of putting the patient at the center and considering the quality of treatment as the highest measure of prestige and brand; and promoting the development of academic capacity by closely combining treatment with scientific research, training, and technology transfer.
The hospital needs to make breakthroughs in implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party and important resolutions of the Politburo (Resolutions No. 57, 59, 71, and 72) related to the development of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, and strengthening the protection, care, and improvement of people's health; incorporating the contents of the Resolutions into the hospital's development strategy, issuing a clear digital transformation roadmap, prioritizing investment in applied research, encouraging innovative initiatives from the grassroots level, focusing on long-term, in-depth training, and creating favorable conditions for staff and doctors to participate in scientific research; expanding global cooperation to transfer knowledge and technology, actively applying modern medical advances, new techniques, and advanced, specialized techniques in diagnosis and treatment, gradually approaching and raising professional standards to international levels, and meeting the requirements of the mission in all situations.

The hospital continues to promote administrative reform, simplify processes and procedures; extensively apply digital transformation and artificial intelligence in management and medical examination and treatment; focus on building a humane, professional, and happy working and medical examination and treatment environment; promote a culture of exemplary conduct, solidarity, and responsibility, creating trust and absolute satisfaction for leaders and patients coming to the hospital for examination and treatment.
The Central Military Hospital 108 needs to continue to uphold and promote its three core values: Heart, Mind, and Trust; taking medical ethics as its foundation; intelligence and innovation as its driving force; and prestige and trust as its measure. It strives to build the Central Military Hospital 108 into a model institution for healthcare for high-ranking officials, soldiers, and the people, making a positive contribution to the development of Vietnamese medicine in the new era.
75 years – a journey full of hardship and glory – has forged traditions, crystallized into resilience, and affirmed the position of a leading medical center of the Army and the nation. Looking back on the past journey, with its glorious tradition, intelligence, resilience, strong aspiration for progress, and the leadership and support of the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense, the General Secretary believes that the Central Military Hospital 108 will continue to make breakthroughs and develop remarkably, becoming a leading medical center of the country and the region; worthy of being the pride of national medicine, and a solid support for the army and the people.

Acknowledging and expressing gratitude to the generations of military doctors who have dedicated their youth, even their blood and bones, to the cause of saving lives; respectfully thanking the silent but persistent contributions of military doctors throughout the ages, the General Secretary wished them continued good health, happiness, and the maintenance of their enthusiasm, continuing to dedicate their intellect and passion to this noble cause; wishing the Central Military Hospital 108 to always uphold its glorious tradition of being a "Three-Time Heroic Unit" and to spread the noble values of "Intelligence - Humanity - Discipline - Service"; and to continue to move forward on a new path - developing more strongly, more modernly, and more humanely!
At the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam awarded the Ho Chi Minh Order (second time) to the Central Military Hospital 108 for its long tradition, great contributions, and outstanding achievements in the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
This is a prestigious award, demonstrating the trust of the Party, State, and Army in the persistent, silent, yet extremely glorious contributions of the officers, staff, and soldiers of the Central Military Hospital 108; it is a testament to the competence, professional skills, and increasingly high level of international integration of the medical staff of the Vietnam People's Army.
