South Korean President Park Geun-hye continues to lead the country.
On November 18, South Korean President Park Geun-hye presented credentials to five new ambassadors and announced the appointment of 11 senior officials, thereby accelerating her resumption of governing duties despite calls for her resignation over a scandal involving a longtime close friend.

This marks President Park's first official appearance in over a week. A Blue House official said the South Korean president will attend a trilateral summit with China and Japan (scheduled to take place in Tokyo next month); she is also considering the possibility of chairing a cabinet meeting on November 22.
