US President appoints new Ambassador to Vietnam
The White House announced that President Donald Trump has appointed Mr. Daniel Kritenbrink as US Ambassador to Vietnam.

Daniel Kritenbrink is a veteran diplomat on Asian affairs who currently serves as senior adviser on North Korea at the US State Department.
Mr. Kritenbrink, who served as the US Deputy Chief of Mission in Beijing and is fluent in Chinese and Japanese, is married with two children and is from Virginia and began his diplomatic career in 1994.
The current US Ambassador to Vietnam, Ted Osius, appointed by President Barack Obama in 2014, is expected to end his term at the end of this year.
