President Putin announced that Russia has begun mass production of the Oreshnik missile.
Along with the development of the Poseidon nuclear submarine and the Burevestnik unlimited cruise missile, President Putin announced that Russia has begun mass production of the Oreshnik missile.

According to RIA Novosti, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded prizes to the developers of the Poseidon submarine and the Burevestnik cruise missile, and announced the start of mass production of the Oreshnik system.
"I would like to thank all the scientific and production teams—tens of thousands of people who participated in the creation of this powerful, effective, and unique weapon," said President Vladimir Putin.
As Putin noted, the development of the Poseidon nuclear submarine and the Burevestnik missile system is of historical significance to the Russian people and essential for security and strategic balance for decades to come. He emphasized that their construction used only domestically sourced materials.
Furthermore, the electronic components of Poseidon and Burevestnik will be used to create powerful computers. The compact size of these small nuclear reactors will allow them to be used for power generation and mineral extraction in hard-to-reach areas. The operating principles of Poseidon will be used to develop new unmanned systems.
The President also paid particular attention to the key features of Burevestnik and Poseidon.
"The creators of Poseidon also had to solve specific challenges related to operating an underwater system. I mean the advanced materials, components, and assemblies needed for this particular product, ensuring high speed and a diving depth of up to 1,000 meters. In terms of speed, they are many times faster than all modern surface vessels," President Putin shared.
Putin added that the Burevestnik missile's range far exceeds all existing missile systems in the world. He also explained that a NATO reconnaissance ship was constantly present in the missile testing area.
The Russian leader also stated that the country has begun mass production of the Oreshnik missile, while the Sarmat missile system will be put into active service next year.
Alongside this, the development of new nuclear-powered cruise missiles with the potential to become hypersonic missiles has begun. The use of materials developed in the production of these new weapons will help achieve progress not only in the military but also in the civilian sector.
On October 28, Russia successfully tested an unmanned submarine.PoseidonEquipped with a nuclear propulsion system, it can carry both conventional and nuclear weapons, and destroy enemy carrier groups, coastal fortifications, and infrastructure.
Earlier, President Putin announced the completion of testing of an unlimited-range cruise missile.BurevernikRussian Army Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov said the missile test took place on October 21 and the missile traveled 14,000 km in 15 hours.
