President Putin oversees West-2025 exercise with Belarus
Russian President Vladimir Putin personally arrived at the Mulino training ground to oversee progress in the most important stage of the Western-2025 exercises.
According to RIA Novosti, on September 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Mulino training ground, where he supervised the progress of the main phase of the Zapad-2025 (West-2025) exercise.
"I ask the Secretary of Defense to report on the military's readiness to conduct the final phase of the exercise and, of course, I wish everyone good luck," the President said.
Russian Defense Minister Anderei Belousov reported to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief that Russian and Belarusian servicemen began training at 9 a.m. on September 12. This activity took place as part of the Armed Forces' training plan.
President Putin stressed that the purpose of the exercise is to practice defending the union state of Russia and Belarus from any aggression. The plans are based on the experience gained during the implementation of special military operations.
In West-2025, 10,000 modern weapons and equipment systems are used in real combat. More than 247 ships are used, including surface ships, submarines and support vessels. 100,000 servicemen are participating in events at 41 training grounds.
"I hope this is useful for the servicemen professionally. And in terms of building a high level of trust between the two countries, this is certainly useful. You have seen how the Russian military builds its work on the experience of using the Armed Forces in modern armed conflicts," President Putin said at the Mulino training ground.
Mr. Putin also inspected samples of weapons, special and military equipment. In total, more than 400 samples were displayed at the exhibition, of which 125 samples were used in the area of special military operations, 194 samples were being tested in combat and 86 samples were in experimental state.
The Zapad-2025 strategic exercise will take place from September 12 to 16. The combat groups of military commands and troops from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and partner countries have been invited to participate.
