President Putin reveals how to end special military campaign
(Baonghean.vn) - On the second day of the BRICS Summit in Johannesburg (South Africa), leaders discussed the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and international tensions in general. BRICS leaders called for an end to hostilities and a resolution of the crisis at the negotiating table.

Regarding the conflict in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin explained that Moscow always supports and respects the right of people to choose their own development model. However, some countries promote exclusivity and pursue neocolonialism.
The Russian leader believes that it is this desire to maintain hegemony that has turned into a serious crisis in Ukraine.
“Therefore, our special operation in Ukraine is determined by one thing – to end the war waged by the West and its allies in Ukraine against the people living in Donbass” – President Putin stressed.
Through this, President Putin also expressed gratitude to other BRICS members who have actively supported Russia in the past time, "to end this situation and achieve justice through peaceful solutions".
During the highest level exchange of views, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa reiterated that the BRICS mission is to promote the interests of the global South. Therefore, economic development cannot be achieved without peace and stability. In the event of conflict, the UN Charter must be followed.

Brazilian President Luiz Incio Lula da Silva said that political competition is getting deeper and deeper in the world. The UN Security Council has not been able to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict, so the Brazilian leader suggested trying to solve this hot issue on the basis of BRICS.
“More and more countries are cooperating with Moscow and Kiev to mediate conflicts. These efforts cannot be underestimated. We need to end the suffering of our people. And it is unacceptable that, with a military budget of $2 trillion, people are starving. The task of BRICS is to act as a bloc of mutual understanding and cooperation,” the Brazilian president said.
President Putin said Ukraine should take the initiative to negotiate.
