According to RIA Novosti, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with graduates of law and military universities at the Kremlin and commented on Western actions against Russia, as well as the development of the Russian Armed Forces.

President Putin stated that some politicians in the West are planning to cause a "strategic defeat" for Russia, but "history teaches them nothing." According to Putin, in reality, the enemy continues to send weapons and money to Kyiv, as direct participants in the conflict.

The Russian leader argued that, regarding NATO, it is clear who is instigating the arms race. “In the West, they have concocted a horror story about a so-called ‘Russian invasion’ that could happen in order to scare people,” Putin said.

"We also know that at the next NATO Summit, a large-scale program to further build the alliance's capabilities is expected to be announced. To implement it, the military budgets of NATO countries will be increased. Meanwhile, members of the bloc have already spent more on military purposes than all the countries in the world combined. This clearly shows who is really instigating global militarization and the arms race," President Putin said.

Regarding the modernization of the Russian Armed Forces, President Putin emphasized that strengthening the combat capabilities of all branches of the Russian Armed Forces is an urgent task. In particular, the technological modernization of the army and navy remains a top priority.

According to Putin, protecting the country from internal and external threats requires clear coordination among all sectors. Russia will continue to develop its Armed Forces as a guarantee of its sovereignty.

“The current international situation is changing dynamically. We see how the situation in the Middle East has worsened. Extraordinary powers are also involved in the conflict. All of this brings the world to a very dangerous crossroads,” President Putin said.
