President Putin approves Russian delegation to negotiate with Ukraine.

Today (May 15), direct talks may take place between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul, Türkiye. President Putin has approved the composition of the Russian delegation.

According to RIA Novosti, the Kremlin reported that President Vladimir Putin has approved the composition of the Russian delegation participating in negotiations with Ukraine.

The delegation will be led by Presidential Assistant Vladimir Medinsky and will include the following members: Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin; Head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Igor Kostyukov; and Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin.

The Russian leader also approved the list of experts. This list includes Alexander Zorin, First Deputy Head of the Information Department of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces; Elena Podobreevskaya, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of State Policy in the Humanitarian Field; Alexei Polischuk, Head of the Second Department for CIS Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Viktor Shevtsov, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for International Military Cooperation of the Ministry of Defense of Russia.

Earlier, NV Radio reported, citing sources, that the Ukrainian delegation, which would travel to Türkiye with President Volodymyr Zelensky for talks with Russia, would also include the head of his office, Andrei Yermak; Deputy Director of the Presidential Administration, Ihor Zhovkva; Defense Minister Rustem Umerov; and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrei Sybiha.

Reuters, citing an unnamed US official, reported that US President Donald Trump will not travel to Türkiye to participate in talks between Russia and Ukraine. Instead, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and two of Trump's special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Keith Kellogg, will go to observe the dialogue between Moscow and Kyiv.
