According to Ria Novosti news agency on February 23, in a congratulatory speech to the Russian people on Defender of the Fatherland Day (February 23), Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the future of the Russian army and navy belongs to sergeants and officers who have proven themselves in battle and fought bravely.

"Among the top priorities such as strengthening training and combat, skills, coordination of actions between units of the forces, training of commanders at all levels, the best results are given by sergeants and officers - those who have proven themselves in battles, fought heroically on land, in the air and at sea. These are truly brave and decisive commanders in leading soldiers. The future of our army and navy lies in them," President Putin said in his speech.

The Russian leader affirmed that the high combat readiness of the army and navy is a sure guarantee of Russia's security and development of its sovereignty and freedom, in the context of many challenges and risks of the modern world.

President Putin emphasized that dedication to the Fatherland, resilience, loyalty, and the duty to protect every inch of land have been and are the most important "undeniable" values ​​of Russia.

Putin called the participants of the special military operation in Ukraine national heroes. According to the Russian President, taking into account the real combat experience, Russia will continue to strengthen its armed forces in every possible way, ensuring constant rearmament and technical modernization.

President Putin said that the proportion of modern weapons and equipment in the strategic nuclear forces has reached 95%, and in the composition of the naval nuclear triad it has almost reached 100%.

Defense enterprises in recent years have increased production and supply of the most popular weapons for the military, mainly high-precision weapons, drones, tanks, armored vehicles, artillery and air defense systems.
