According to the Ria Novosti news agency on February 23, in his speech congratulating the Russian people on Defender of the Fatherland Day (February 23), Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the future of the Russian army and navy belongs to the sergeants and officers who have proven themselves in battle and fought bravely.

"Among the top priorities such as strengthening training and combat skills, coordination between force units, and training commanders at all levels, the ones who have yielded the best results are the sergeants and officers – those who have proven themselves in battles, fighting bravely on land, in the air, and at sea. These commanders are truly courageous and decisive in leading their troops. The future of our army and navy rests on them," President Putin said in his speech.

The Russian leader asserted that the high combat readiness of the army and navy is a firm guarantee of Russia's security and the development of its sovereign freedom, amidst the many challenges and risks of the modern world.

President Putin emphasized that devotion to the Fatherland, unwavering character, loyalty, and the duty to defend every inch of land have been and continue to be the most important and "undeniable" values of Russia.

Putin called those participating in the special military operation in Ukraine national heroes. According to the Russian president, taking into account the practical combat experience, Russia will continue to strengthen its armed forces in every way possible, ensuring continuous re-equipment and technological modernization.

President Putin stated that the proportion of modern weapons and equipment in the strategic nuclear forces has now reached 95%, and in the naval nuclear triad it is almost 100%.

In recent years, defense companies have increased their production and supply of the most common weapons for the military, primarily precision weapons, drones, tanks, armored vehicles, artillery, and air defense systems.

President Putin added that the next step is to introduce artificial intelligence technology into the military field.
