President Trump warns Iran of unprecedented attack.
President Donald Trump declared that Iran would face unprecedented blows if Tehran attacked U.S. bases.

According to RIA Novosti on January 12, US President Donald Trump declared that the US would launch unprecedented attacks against Iran if Tehran attacked US military and commercial facilities.
"If they do that, we will deliver a blow they've never seen before, and they won't even believe it. I have very strong options," President Trump told reporters when asked about the possibility of Tehran attacking U.S. military and commercial facilities.
The White House leader also reiterated that the US would reclaim Greenland "by any means necessary," otherwise, he said, Russia or China would do it.
The escalating protests in Iran began in late December 2025 due to the devaluation of the national currency and its impact on wholesale and retail prices. Central Bank Governor Mohammad Farzin resigned, and Abdolnasser Hemmati took over.
Protests escalated across the country, causing damage to private property and urban infrastructure. The demonstrations were accompanied by slogans against the current political system. Internet access was cut nationwide, and media outlets lost signal for hours.
On January 10, Pahlavi, 65, the exiled son of Iran's Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, called for a general strike, citing the protests' goal as preparing to seize and control strategically important streets and infrastructure. Earlier, he had called on US President Donald Trump to intervene.
In a nationwide address on January 11, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian promised protesters continued economic reforms and solutions to their problems, while accusing the United States and Israel of orchestrating the unrest. He urged people to take to the streets to prevent extremists from replacing the people's genuine demands with their own.
