The 2017 Toyota Corolla Altis is preparing to launch in Vietnam.
The updated facelift version of the Toyota Corolla Altis has arrived in Vietnam and will be displayed at the VMS 2017 exhibition.
The 11th generation Toyota Corolla Altis was first launched in Vietnam in 2014 and received its most recent upgrade in May 2016, but it still retains its old appearance. Meanwhile, the improved 2017 facelift version, with its more attractive and impressive look, has been appearing in Malaysia, Thailand, and India for several months now.
To avoid keeping Vietnamese consumers waiting any longer, Toyota will showcase the 2017 Corolla Altis at the VMS 2017 exhibition starting on August 1st and is expected to go on sale shortly thereafter.
This is the most significant exterior redesign of the 11th-generation Altis, three years after its initial launch in Southeast Asia. The car features slimmer headlights, as well as LED daytime running lights at the front and LED taillights, making it easier for buyers to distinguish it from the previous Altis model.
Inside, the 2017 Altis comes equipped with single-zone automatic climate control, keyless start, a steering wheel with integrated audio controls, and 60:40 split-folding rear seats. Higher trim levels add an Optitron instrument panel, steering wheel-mounted controls for the instrument display and Bluetooth functionality, as well as leather seats, cruise control, and an 8-way power-adjustable sport driver's seat.
Toyota also offers an optional 2-DIN DVD-AVN entertainment system with a 7-inch screen, supporting Bluetooth, WiFi, HDMI connectivity, GPS navigation, and an integrated rearview camera. For a better experience, customers can upgrade to a DIV-AVN system with additional internet access via a capacitive touchscreen. Other genuine accessories include sports body kits and dashcams.
In some markets, all configurations of the 2017 Altis come standard with the VSC electronic stability control system and all seven airbags, including an additional knee airbag for the driver. Therefore, the car's performance will be more stable, making it a more worthwhile purchase compared to the previous generation.
While the 2017 Corolla Altis in Thailand starts at 799,000 baht (approximately 527 million VND), it is priced from RM117,361 (approximately 603 million VND) in Malaysia and starts at 1,587,000 rupees (approximately 552 million VND) in India. All models in these markets are equipped with a 1.8L VVT-i engine producing 138 horsepower and 173 Nm of torque.
It is expected that the car in Vietnam will still have the same 1.8L and 2.0L gasoline engine options as before, but the price will be adjusted downwards to better compete with rivals in the C-segment sedan market.
