The new model's design is similar to the Vios, but the body is more muscular with two prominent creases, LED daytime running lights in the grille, and a compact, angular rear end. It comes with 15-inch alloy wheels, except for the lowest trim level which has 14-inch wheels.

The interior layout of the Yaris Ativ is similar to the Vios, from the multi-functional steering wheel and display screen to the gear lever. In Thailand, the sedan version of the Yaris has 5 variants: J Eco, J, E, G, and the top-of-the-line S. The car is equipped with 7 airbags, disc brakes only on the front wheels, and cloth seats.
