According to the Ministry of Health's recommendations, to proactively prevent Zika virus disease, people should take the following measures: People, especially pregnant women, should proactively monitor their health, and if they experience any suspected symptoms, they should go to a medical facility for examination, consultation, and treatment.
Proactive measures to prevent mosquito bites and eliminate mosquitoes and mosquito larvae: Preventing mosquito bites: sleep under mosquito nets, wear long clothing even during the day, use mosquito repellent cream and mosquito coils; Eliminating mosquitoes: use mosquito nets, spray mosquito-killing chemicals; actively cooperate with the health sector in chemical spraying campaigns to prevent and control outbreaks.
Eliminate mosquito larvae: Cover household water containers tightly, introduce fish into large water containers, wash medium and small water containers; tidy up items, turn over containers that do not hold water; change the water in flower vases, add salt or oil to the water in bowls placed under cupboard legs.
Women who are 7-10 days late for their period should proactively go for a prenatal check-up and ultrasound immediately to assess their health, confirm the pregnancy, and receive detailed appointment scheduling advice. Pregnant women should have three ultrasounds during their pregnancy: at 12 weeks, 22 weeks, and 32 weeks.
