Mr. Hoang Van Khanh, Director of Nghe An Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company, stated that the Hung Dong landfill is managed by the Hung Dong Commune People's Committee, not by Nghe An Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company.
Regarding the Vinh City People's Committee, after receiving the information, Mr. Le Sy Chien - Vice Chairman of the Vinh City People's Committee - said that he would immediately investigate the matter to handle it promptly.
However, as of 5 PM this afternoon, when we left the scene, the fire at the landfill was still spreading, emitting thick smoke.
It is known that the Hung Dong landfill has been closed for many years due to environmental pollution, and currently there is still a very large amount of waste that has not been processed. Recently, due to the hot weather, all the vegetation on the landfill has dried up and caught fire very quickly.
