In the final days of the year, almost everywhere on the streets, people can easily notice the urgent and bustling atmosphere present at construction sites. Speaking to us, a representative shared...Vinh City Urban Management DepartmentAccording to reports, compared to previous years, the progress of public investment projects has changed significantly this year.

Previously, projects that were behind schedule could be extended to the following year, but now, to accelerate the disbursement of public investment, construction work is inspected and paid for in stages, closely matching the completed volume. Projects that are behind schedule will not be extended to the following year, and unless there is an objective reason, the funding will be reallocated and cut for other projects or items.

After more than 12 months of intensive construction, most projects are now completed on schedule. Since the beginning of the rainy season, projects such as the drainage ditch from Nguyen Phong Sac Street in front of the Orthopedic Trauma Hospital to the North Canal, the paving project for ditch No. 2 from the beginning of Le Hong Phong Street to Nai Bridge, and the drainage ditch along Truong Chinh Street, from Ly Thuong Kiet Street to Vinh Train Station Market, have been completed.

Next is the project.Dredging and upgrading the regulating lake.at pumping station No. 3 Ben Thuy; drainage ditch from Vo Nguyen Hien road to Nguyen Gia Thieu road (Hung Dung); drainage ditch from Le Ninh road (Quan Bau), Truong Chinh road (Le Loi), road and drainage ditch from Vuong Thuc Mau road connecting to Le Hong Phong road (Truong Thi ward); drainage ditch project on To Hien Thanh road; localized flood control project north of Nguyen Thai Hoc road.

Currently, only the drainage ditch along Nguyen Duy Trinh Street to Nguyen Viet Xuan Street remains unfinished; the upgrading of the drainage ditch on Mai Hac De Street near the Quan Bau twin gas station is currently under construction.

Mr. Hoang Hong Khanh – Chairman of Vinh Urban Infrastructure Investment and Management Joint Stock Company shared: Compared to other projects, urban construction projects have their own unique difficulties, as they are very prone to delays due to procedural issues related to other infrastructure projects. Even minor problems related to power lines, telecommunications, or water pipes can cause delays of months and incur significant additional costs.

After a period of handover and delivery...flood control worksIn the area where they are operational, the flood control projects in Vinh City have proven effective, at least during the 2021 rainy season, performing quite well. The intersections of Le Nin Boulevard with Duy Tan Street, Dinh Le Street, Nguyen Gia Thieu Street, and Tue Tinh Street, which were previously flood-prone areas, now dry up within 15-20 minutes of heavy rain.
