Vinh City attaches public toilets to coffee shops

(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the direction plan of the Vinh City Party Committee Standing Committee on building a civilized urban city of Vinh in 2017, on the morning of March 20, Vinh City Youth Union coordinated with the Provincial Youth Union to install public toilets for people at coffee shops.

Currently, in Vinh city, the number of public toilets for residents and tourists is very small, while the land fund is limited, making it difficult to build. Therefore, the use of toilets of coffee shops to coordinate the construction and upgrade into public toilets is supported by many people.

From early morning, more than 20 youth union members of Vinh City Youth Union cleaned the toilets at the coffee shops, replaced the degraded equipment; and at the same time, posted signs at the locations so that people can easily recognize and use them.

The Vinh City Youth Union has piloted the installation of toilets at 3 locations. Specifically, at 2 coffee shops on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street and 1 coffee shop on Le Mao Street. The funding for the project is drawn from the Vinh City Youth Union budget with support from the Provincial Youth Union. In April, the City Youth Union will continue to implement the project at some shops on streets such as Ho Tung Mau, Phan Dang Luu, etc.

After coordinating the installation of toilets in coffee shops, Vinh City Youth Union will coordinate with Nghe An Urban Environment Company to regularly clean them.

Mr. Le Vo Sy - Standing Deputy Secretary of Vinh City Youth Union said: "In the near future, we will mobilize more forces to implement this at more locations and on more routes. This work has been responded to by many coffee shops and they agree to do it with us. Installing public toilets at coffee shops greatly contributes to raising people's awareness of maintaining public hygiene, avoiding the situation of going to the toilet in the wrong place."
