Vinh City integrates public restrooms with coffee shops.

(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the plan directed by the Standing Committee of the Vinh City Party Committee on building a civilized urban city in Vinh in 2017, on the morning of March 20th, the Vinh City Youth Union, in coordination with the Provincial Youth Union, launched a campaign to install public toilets for people at cafes.

Currently, in Vinh City, there are very few public restrooms for residents and tourists, while land is scarce, making construction difficult. Therefore, the idea of ​​utilizing the restrooms of cafes to build and upgrade them into public restrooms has received widespread support.

From early morning, more than 20 youth union members from Vinh City Youth Union cleaned the restrooms at cafes, replaced outdated equipment, and installed signs at various locations so that people could easily identify and use them.

The Vinh City Youth Union has piloted the installation of restrooms at three locations: two cafes on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street and one cafe on Le Mao Street. The funding for this project comes from the Vinh City Youth Union's budget, with support from the Provincial Youth Union. In April, the City Youth Union will continue the project at several other cafes on streets such as Ho Tung Mau and Phan Dang Luu.

After coordinating the installation of toilets at cafes, the Vinh City Youth Union will cooperate with the Nghe An Urban Environment Company to regularly clean them.

This initiative has been supported by many cafes who have agreed to cooperate with us. Installing public restrooms at cafes contributes greatly to raising people's awareness of maintaining public hygiene and preventing people from using restrooms in inappropriate places."
