Vinh City resolved over 1,600 complaints, denunciations, and land disputes.

(Baonghean.vn) – This information was provided by Mr. Truong Xuan Ty, Chief Inspector of Vinh City, at the 12th session of the Vinh City People's Council, 20th term, 2011-2016, when discussing the detection and handling of corruption and wastefulness in the area.

Accordingly, in 2015, the Vinh City Inspectorate conducted 4 unscheduled inspections in the areas of financial revenue and expenditure management; cement support for 25 wards and communes; recruitment and termination of labor contracts at 1 public service unit; and 6 planned inspections.

The city also resolved 1,659 out of 1,710 cases of complaints, denunciations, land disputes, petitions, and feedback. Through this process, violations by officials and civil servants were detected and severely punished; shortcomings and deficiencies in leadership and management were addressed and rectified.

The Vinh City Police have initiated an investigation into one case involving one suspect for abusing their position and authority in the performance of their duties in Nghi Kim commune; the Vinh City People's Procuracy has decided to prosecute two cases involving three suspects at the Vinh City Social Labor Center for intentionally violating State regulations on economic management causing serious consequences, and one case involving one suspect in Nghi Kim commune. The Vinh City People's Court has also accepted and brought to trial one case involving one defendant in Nghi Kim commune.

However, according to assessments, coordination among agencies and units in the fight against corruption, the practice of thrift, and the prevention of waste has not been consistent. The detection of corrupt acts remains low; some agencies and units have not paid adequate attention and have been superficial in implementing some anti-corruption measures.
