Vinh City has no prolonged traffic jams during Tet

Implementing many documents of the City Party Committee and People's Committee, from January 25, 2019, Vinh City Police mobilized about 550 comrades including city police officers, civil defense forces, urban order and rules teams, militia and self-defense forces, and commune police to implement traffic diversion plans and ensure traffic.

The results showed that traffic during and after Tet was smooth, without any prolonged congestion, especially on major roads. City residents and tourists welcomed the spring happily, safely, and traveled conveniently. There was no racing in the area. Notably, there were no serious traffic accidents causing human casualties.

On the 30th of Tet and New Year's Eve, the City People's Committee directed the City Police to mobilize 100% of officers and soldiers to effectively implement plans to ensure security and order in the area and protect the "New Year's Eve Festival of the Year of the Pig 2019". Notably, at the 2 fireworks display locations (Ho Chi Minh Square and 72m road in Nghi Phu commune), there were no complicated situations regarding security and order, traffic jams and accidents.

Regarding environmental sanitation, before Tet, Vinh City organized a general cleaning of the city, assigned the environmental company to quickly collect waste; at the same time, promoted propaganda for people to raise awareness, not to litter during Tet, therefore, after Tet, the amount of waste in the city was basically handled promptly.

The city also launched a high-profile campaign to crack down on crime, ensuring security and order before, during and after the 2019 Lunar New Year. Focusing on cracking down on crimes such as property theft, drug trafficking, gambling, smuggling, counterfeit goods, trade fraud, "dirty food"... in the area.

The results have been the resolution of 17 illegal cases; the discovery and handling of 18 cases of smuggling, the seizure of goods worth over 700 million VND; and the handling of 15 cases of environmental violations...

Mr. Tran Ngoc Tu - Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee said: Lunar New Year 2019 in Vinh City took place safely and happily, without any incidents related to security, traffic safety, urban order and environment.

After Tet, the city will continue to maintain and add more light roads, initially investing in decorative lighting systems on Nguyen Du and Le Duan streets; maintaining flower routes to create highlights on the roads; increasing forces to ensure traffic safety and urban order.
