According to a representative of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Vinh City, the cause of the mass fish deaths is due to the prolonged hot weather, the high water temperature causing the fish to go into heat shock and die. In addition, the water source in the regulating lake is gradually being polluted because some people litter the lake.
