The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has announced 242 examination centers for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year. This year, the exam papers will be delivered to the examination centers starting from May 31st, one day earlier than the official exam schedule.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City will take place on June 1st and 2nd, with over 151,000 candidates registered. This is the first exam after the merger and the largest in scale ever.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the city has arranged 242 examination centers for the 10th grade entrance exam, mainly located in junior high schools and some high schools.
Of these, there are 226 regular examination centers and 16 specialized examination centers for candidates applying to specialized classes and integrated programs.
The entire city has 6,443 examination rooms to be used for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year.
Each examination site is equipped with three additional reserve rooms to handle any unforeseen situations as per regulations.
Over 151,000 students registered to take the 10th grade entrance exam.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, nearly 170,000 ninth-grade students in the city completed the junior high school program this academic year.
Of these, 151,269 students registered to take the entrance exam for 10th grade in public schools.
To facilitate the exam, Ho Chi Minh City mobilized more than 17,700 teachers, officials, and staff to participate in invigilation, supervision, and support for the exam organization.
The 10th grade exam papers are distributed before the exam date.
Unlike previous years, this year's 10th grade exam papers will be delivered to examination centers starting May 31st, one day before the official exam date.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training stated that the early distribution of exam papers was implemented due to the large geographical area and the large number of examination centers.
According to the head of the Department of Education and Training, in addition to the police force, the head of the examination center is also responsible for safeguarding the exam papers during their storage at the examination center.
Candidates take three compulsory subjects.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City for the 2026-2027 school year will take place on June 1st and 2nd.
Candidates must complete three compulsory exams: Literature in 120 minutes, Mathematics in 120 minutes, and Foreign Language in 90 minutes.
For candidates applying to specialized classes or integrated programs, the specialized subject and integrated subject exams will be held on the afternoon of June 2nd.
With over 151,000 candidates and 242 examination centers, this year's 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City is considered the largest ever held since the city's administrative boundary merger.
