Paying nearly $60,000 to have coffee with Donald Trump's daughter.

Ozan M. Ozkural, a London-based investment fund manager, found a very creative way to approach the family of the US President-elect – bidding nearly $60,000 to have a drink with Ivanka Trump at a charity event she organized.

Ivanka plays a key role in her father Donald Trump's administration. Therefore, Ozkural wanted to meet with Ivanka to learn more about topics such as Donald Trump's future agreements with Türkiye and other countries where Ozkural has investments, he said.

"The nature of our business is that we have to talk to a lot of governments, politicians, and lawmakers around the world," Ozkural said in an interview this week. "From that, you get a better understanding of the world situation." He revealed that he has recently been speaking with the President of Argentina.

Ozkural was just one of the high bidders in the auction for a coffee date with Donald Trump's daughter. The event also included the owner of a Tex-Mex restaurant chain, who wanted to use Ivanka to send a message to Trump about immigration policy. A Florida real estate mogul and politician wanted to send a message that Trump cheated in the election.

The auction, organized by a New York-based company called Charitybuzz, is scheduled to run until December 20th. The proceeds will go to a charity founded by Eric Trump, another of Donald Trump's children.

However, this morning, the New York Times reported that the auction had been canceled due to growing criticism that the Trump family was selling access to them to the public.
