Responding to the petition of Nghi Loc district voters about dredging the channel at the boat mooring area in Nghi Quang bara area
Voters of Nghi Quang commune, Nghi Loc district proposed dredging and clearing the channel at the boat mooring area in Nghi Quang bara area to Nghi Thiet commune, Nghi Loc district.
TAnswer:
The area of boat mooring from Nghi Quang bara area to Nghi Thiet commune (Nghi Loc) and many other sections around this area extending to Cua Hoi fishing port (in Nghi Hai ward, Cua Lo town) are currently silted and shallow... making it difficult for boats to enter and exit the canal, enter the fishing port for inspection, control, and loading and unloading of goods. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has grasped the reality and accepted this content.

In recent times, in the 6 estuaries of Lach Hoi, Lach Lo, Lach Van, Lach Quen, Lach Thoi, Lach Co, the alluvial sedimentation at the estuary has become increasingly serious. The characteristic of the Lach Lo estuary is that the inland flow from the Cam River is weak, not enough to push sand and alluvium out to sea, so the sedimentation of the channel occurs frequently and is increasingly serious.
According to new regulations in Decree No. 57/2024/ND-CP dated May 20, 2024 of the Government on management of dredging activities in seaport waters and inland waterway waters, the Department of Transport is the presiding unit.
To ensure the exploitation and fishing activities at sea, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will coordinate with the Department of Transport to survey and evaluate specifically and propose the Provincial People's Committee and Provincial People's Council to consider and study the dredging of waterways, as well as solutions to prevent sedimentation in the coming time to ensure the operation of fishing vessels and boats, as well as other commercial activities in this area in accordance with the State's regulations on the management of dredging activities in seaport waters and inland waterway waters.
