Villager stabs man to death for using foul language at wedding.

While carrying his cup to the village men's table to toast them, Minh used too much foul language and was punished by having to drink more. During the ensuing altercation, Minh was fatally stabbed by Ky.

On June 30, the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Court held a mobile trial, conducting a first-instance hearing and sentencing Nguyen Dinh Ky (20 years old, residing in Thanh Tan commune, Thach Thanh district) to life imprisonment for murder.

According to the indictment, at approximately 5 PM on January 16th, Mr. Do Van Minh (residing in Thanh Truc commune, Thach Thanh district) attended a wedding at the house of Mr. Nguyen Van Hung in Thach Loi village, Thanh Tan commune.

During the meal, Minh went over to Ky's table to toast. There were four other young men at the table, all from Thach Loi village, Thanh Vinh commune. Minh used foul language frequently, so everyone at the table punished him by making him drink more alcohol.

Later, due to excessive drinking, a conflict arose between Minh and the young men from Thach Loi village. At this time, Minh continued to drink, while the group of young men left.

Because of the cold weather, Ky went home (about 500 meters from the wedding) to put on more warm clothes and retrieved a switchblade knife about 15 cm long, which he put in his pocket before returning to the wedding.

Upon arriving at the theater entrance, the young man took out a switchblade and showed it to his group of friends. Then, Ky went inside and waved to Minh, calling him out.

Seeing this, Minh went outside and spent a long time on his phone, which led to another altercation with the group of villagers. Enraged, Ky pulled out a knife, approached Minh, and stabbed him twice in the stomach, causing the victim to collapse on the spot.

Minh was taken to Thach Thanh District General Hospital for emergency treatment, but he did not survive.

The following day, Nguyen Dinh Ky surrendered to the police and confessed to all his crimes.
