Tran Bao Quoc, nicknamed "The Godfather," was caught red-handed by Da Nang police while transporting drugs for sale.
On October 14th, the Da Nang City Police announced that they had coordinated with the Hoa Nhon Gate Traffic Police Station to apprehend Tran Bao Quoc (47 years old, residing in Ho Chi Minh City, nicknamed "The Godfather") for illegally transporting narcotics.
Quoc was caught red-handed on the evening of October 12th on National Highway 14B (the section passing through Hoa Nhon commune, Hoa Vang district). The seized items included 1kg of ketamine, 1.2kg of powder suspected of being used to make "happy water" (a type of methamphetamine), and approximately 200 empty bags used to hold "happy water"...
According to the police, as the car carrying Quoc and the drugs passed the highway toll booth heading towards National Highway 14B, the detectives immediately approached.
At this point, the driver disregarded the order and accelerated to overtake. The detectives quickly subdued and apprehended Quoc.
Upon investigation, the police discovered that Tran Bao Quoc was a notorious criminal, under surveillance by the Ho Chi Minh City police. Quoc had shifted his operations to the central region to avoid being tracked and monitored.
Quoc connected with individuals from outside the province, mainly in Da Nang and Thua Thien - Hue, to transport and distribute drugs.
Despite clear evidence, the suspect stubbornly refused to admit his wrongdoing. However, with the documents collected by the police, Quoc was forced to confess his actions.
