Solemn 83rd death anniversary of General Secretary Le Hong Phong
On the morning of September 17 (July 26, At Ty year), at the Memorial Site of General Secretary Le Hong Phong, Hung Nguyen Nam commune solemnly held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate General Secretary Le Hong Phong on the occasion of the 83rd death anniversary.
Attending the ceremony, delegates from Military Region 4 included Major General Le Van Trung - Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Region.

83 years ago, comrade Le Hong Phong sacrificed his life at noon on September 6, 1942 (July 26, Nham Ngo year). Our Party lost a leader who was loyal to the Party, devoted to the people, and a staunch soldier of the international Communist movement.
With 40 years of age and more than 20 years of revolutionary activities, comrade Le Hong Phong is an outstanding leader of our Party, State and People; an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh; a steadfast soldier of the international Communist and workers' movement; an outstanding son of his homeland Nghe An.

General Secretary Le Hong Phong devoted his whole life to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the People; always putting the interests of the revolution above the interests of his own life and family happiness.
Comrade Le Hong Phong's birth name was Le Huy Duc, later changed to Le Huy Doan, born in 1902 in Dong village, Thong Lang commune (Hung Thong commune, old Hung Nguyen district), now Hung Nguyen Nam commune, Nghe An.

In 1924, Le Huy Doan and like-minded people found their way to the Northeast of Thailand to carry out revolutionary activities. Le Huy Doan changed his name to Le Hong Phong.
At the end of 1924, Le Hong Phong met leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, and from here, under his guidance and training, Le Hong Phong became an elite revolutionary cadre, a staunch international communist soldier.

From March 27 to 31, 1935, in Macau (China), the First Congress of the Party was convened. The Congress elected comrade Le Hong Phong as General Secretary of the Party (General Secretary).
At the 7th Congress of the Communist International, comrade Le Hong Phong was elected to the Presidium of the Congress, was elected by the Congress as an official member of the Executive Committee of the Communist International and had many active activities contributing to the success of the Congress.

After many years of revolutionary activities and important contributions to the Party, country and people, recognizing the key role of comrade Le Hong Phong in the patriotic and national liberation movement, on June 22, 1939, the French colonialists arrested comrade Le Hong Phong.
He was sentenced by the Saigon Court to 6 months in prison and 3 years of house arrest, then released to his hometown. In 1940, comrade Le Hong Phong was arrested by the French colonialists for the second time in his hometown, then imprisoned in the Big Prison, Saigon and sentenced to 5 years in prison, exiled to Con Dao.

In Con Dao, after many months of brutal torture, his health deteriorated. He breathed his last at noon on September 6, 1942. Before his death, he left a message: "Please report to the Party that, until the last moment, Le Hong Phong still believed in the glorious victory of the revolution."
The 83rd death anniversary of General Secretary Le Hong Phong is a special occasion to pay tribute to him more deeply, review his life, career, merits and great contributions to the revolutionary cause, to the country, homeland as well as to peace-loving humanity in the world.

In the sacred atmosphere, delegates respectfully offered flowers, gifts, and incense to the spirit of General Secretary Le Hong Phong; expressing deep gratitude for his great and important contributions to the revolutionary cause, the country, and the homeland.
Following the path and career of General Secretary Le Hong Phong, the Party Committee, Government and People of Nghe An province in general and Hung Nguyen Nam commune in particular are determined to overcome all difficulties and challenges, join hands and hearts to build the homeland to become increasingly prosperous and develop sustainably.
