Solemn Commemoration Ceremony of Hung Kings' Ancestors at Hong Son Temple
On the morning of April 26th (corresponding to the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month of the Year of the Horse), the Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony was solemnly held at the Hong Son Temple, a National Historical and Cultural Monument, in Truong Vinh ward.
From early morning, in the sacred atmosphere of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, many locals and visitors from all over gathered at Hong Son Temple to respectfully offer flowers and light incense sticks in remembrance of the contributions of the Hung Kings.
The Hong Son Temple, built during the Nguyen Dynasty, houses the royal throne and ancestral tablets of the 18 Hung Kings in the central hall. The Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony is held annually on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month to remember, honor, and express profound gratitude to the Hung Kings and other ancestors in the nation's history who contributed to the founding and preservation of the country; and to honor the "Hung Kings Worship Belief" as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
The Ancestor Commemoration Ceremony also serves as an opportunity to educate all segments of the population about national traditions.
The ceremony included main activities such as offering gifts, flowers, and incense, reading the commemorative address, and paying respects... In addition, there was a discussion program about the Ancestor Commemoration Day and a volleyball match between different localities.
