(Baonghean.vn) - On the night of September 24th, on Tran Phu Street (Vinh City), a sleeper bus "flew" onto the median strip after swerving to avoid a man who stopped to pick up a sandal that had fallen onto the road.

According to several witnesses, at approximately 10:15 PM on September 24th, a sleeper bus with license plate 38B-005.70 belonging to Thai Hoc bus company, operating on the Ha Tinh - Hanoi route, was traveling on Tran Phu Street in Vinh City.

As the car passed the roundabout in front of the Phuong Dong Hotel, it encountered a man on a motorbike with license plate 37N1-644.05 (identity unknown) who stopped to…pick up a sandal that had fallen on the road ahead.

Due to the suddenness of the situation, the driver of the sleeper bus had to swerve to the left to avoid the motorbike. The man on the motorbike luckily escaped with only minor scratches, but the motorbike was dragged under the sleeper bus.

The front of the passenger bus was severely damaged.

At the scene, the sleeper bus crashed into and damaged a lamppost and an advertising sign on the median strip of Tran Phu Street. Dozens of passengers on the bus had a narrow escape before being transferred to another vehicle to continue their journey.

Upon receiving the report, the traffic police force of Vinh City Police quickly arrived to regulate traffic. By the early morning of September 25th, the passenger bus was finally removed from the accident scene by a tow truck.
